defeser Posted August 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2013 I'm taking my wonderful wife and two little ones (ages 10 and 6) on the Enchantment of the Seas next Friday for a three-night Bahamas sailing. We have been on many cruises together including NCL, Carnival, and the Allure last summer. This will be our first "short" cruise on a slightly older ship. I'm really, really, really hoping those of you who have done this sailing recently will write-in about your experiences and impressions of the Enchantment. As always, thanks everyone and happy sailing!
billylen Posted August 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2013 Difference cruise, same ship...some of my thoughts... In short, I think you'll have a great time...enjoy! http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=219376
md2661 Posted August 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2013 My wife and I have been on the ship three times since it was moved to Port Canaveral this year. We really enjoyed it. The ship is in great shape and the crew is fabulous. Seems you probably got a great price sailing next Friday as well. Have a great time!
defeser Posted August 15, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted August 15, 2013 I really did get a GREAT price. For the FOUR of us, in an ocean view balcony stateroom, I paid $1,600 with a $150 OBC and dinner for two at Chops included! I even used miles for the tickets so it's a nice deal! LilMermaid Posted August 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2013 We were on the Enchantment in July for a 3 nighter, and have booked again for September. Although we generally prefer long cruises, the Enchantment is SOOOOOO worth it! She is a beautiful, well-maintained ship, with a friendly, caring staff and so much to do that we were exhausted on Monday when it was all over LOL! The food and MDR service was very good. They even had a buffet on the pool deck at sail-away - great nachos! We can't wait until September to cruise on her again, and I'm sure your family will have a wonderful time next week. Ralphinsc Posted August 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 15, 2013 The enchantment is a wonderful ship! She doesn't feel or look old at all. Just the right size to be fun and itneresting for a four day cruise. You'll really enjoy her.:D
MrFunInTheSun Posted August 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2013 It's a great ship. You'll have a great time. I did both the three and four night. My live from has the compasses along with the kids ones too. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1881918 Have a great cruise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. xxoocruiser Posted August 15, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 15, 2013 Have taken many cruises, many ships and many cruise lines. Each one is always a new experience. The Enchantment is a wonderful ship. The important thing is not to compare it to all the features of the Allure. Go with an open mind and enjoy ! Check out this video
SANDY823 Posted August 28, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 28, 2013 just off the Enchantment Monday from the 3 nighter- I never do such short cruises, and was my first time on the Enchantment. Radiance class is my favorite, and i've been on all the big ships - Freedom, Indy, Oasis, Allure. We had a great time. THought the ship was in great shape, nice and clean.. We had JS 8144 and 8146 -connecting- tons of storage space albeit not the normal walk in closet we are used to... Bathroom a bit smaller -but again, tons of storage space. 8146 does have a pole at the end of the bed.. We were a group of 4 ladies- so had a bit of fun with pics on that -lol-but some might not like the pole in the middle of the cabin. Had some plumbing issues -that took awhile to fix, and never were completely fixed, but didn't let that ruin our cruise by any means. Disappointed in the dining room food- only went one night- would definitely sail her again,,,Staff was great, lots of activities going on, lots of good music (not old folks boring ) . Casino crowded and smokey - My rating - 8 out of 10 -- would sail her again in a minute- did rental car one way and worked great with Budget for drop off and pick up. pickler1 Posted August 28, 2013 #10 Share Posted August 28, 2013 We cruised on the Enchantment back in May. We were used to doing that trip on the Monarch. We did like the Monarch but compared to the Enchantment we'll take the Enchantment. It is a beautiful ship. The pool deck was huge. The food was good. No complaints here. Have a great cruise! Firefighterhoop Posted August 29, 2013 #13 Share Posted August 29, 2013 I have taken several wonderful cruises on the Enchantment. I have done several iteneraries from the short cruises out of Ft. Lauderdale it did a few years ago, to Long cruises out of Baltimore, and it is one of my favorite ships. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles and amenities of the newer ships, however, it has one of the best crews and Officers that RCCL has to offer. Philly Steve Posted August 29, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 29, 2013 The Bahamas Islands are a great destination for a compact cruise. Have a great time!
alfaeric Posted August 29, 2013 #15 Share Posted August 29, 2013 Nice little cruise! Echo all of the nice words about the Enchantment- she's currently #1 in our "total nights at sea" of all RCI ship- 17 with a 8 and 9 night trip (Adventure is 2nd with 14), and we will add to that next month when we sail on her again. Nassau can be really fun, but where you and your family (particularly your kids) will have great fun is Coco Cay. Enough to do for everyone, beach on all sides, sun, music. What more can you ask for? It's just DW and I, and we REALLY love going to Coco Cay. Have fun!!!
