Wind Drydock?

The Wind has no scheduled cruises for three weeks this fall while it is in the Med.

 

Is it going into dry dock? If so, does anyone on CC know what they will be doing? Replacing some of the bathtubs with the splendid showers that were installed on the last Cloud dry dock?

Yes, it's a dry dock... We were originally scheduled for a cruise that was dropped for the dry dock.

I am bumping my earlier message back to life.

 

Does anyone on CC know what will be done during the Wind dry dock?

We just left the Cloud, where we booked a cruise on the Wind for Mar 2013.... We heard from Carl the cruise consultant that the tubs aren't being replaced this time, and it's more decor / soft goods from the passenger perspective, and behind the scenes equipment.

They will replicate the very handsome (and expensive) Bar and LaChampagne, as on the Cloud. IMHO, I think they are 2 of the best redos in recent years.

I agree that the Cloud refurbishment was brilliant.

 

At the same time, I am disappointed that they will not be replacing the Wind tubs with shower units like those installed in many Cloud suites. I think that the Cloud bathroom remodeling was wonderful.

We prefer the tubs! A small voice among the many, we know. The rest of the refurb is delightful. The same feel as traditional Silversea with a fresh feel.

As I recall, the Cloud refurb left tubs in a number of suites, though in most suites tubs were replaced by handsome, highly functional shower units (with marble benches).

As another who doesn't like the showers, but loves the laze in a tub, I hope they leave some of the deck 6 suites with tubs. On Cloud they are all on Deck 5, and we prefer deck 6, because it is so central for whatever you are doing.
