originolsin Posted July 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2005 I was wondering if anyone knew of some really really good sushi places in Seattle. We will be spending a few days there, and hope to visit a great Sushi restaurant/bar. TIA for any suggestions! Brett

Rare Gardyloo Posted July 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2005 Three places to suggest, plus one downtown, so a car will be a benefit. Toyoda Sushi on Lake City Way (6 mi NE of downtown) is very very good, many of our sushi-loving friends (and we) think it's the best. Very small room, expect to wait. (Yes, that's a "d.") Hiroshi's on Eastlake (3 miles NE of downtown) is also excellent, plus their non-sushi dishes are very good. Nice big-screen TV on which one can watch Ichiro be the Wizard that he is. Very friendly neighborhood joint, our fave overall for Japanese in town. Brand new and really fun place, Blue C Sushi at the upmarket University Village shopping center, just east of the UW on 25th Ave NE. Very fun conveyer-belt place, themed on the Tokyo metro (color coded plates with metro lines' colors - different price for each color plate) plus the coooolest toilets in Seattle (except the ladies' loo at the Tower Club, but that's another story.) Blue C also has a branch in ?Fremont? which we haven't visited, but the one at U Village is a serious hoot, with excellent sushi. Any savings you take away from your meal can be easily overcome at the shops in the mall - everything from Talbot's to Coach to Anthropologie to Fran's (best chocolate in the Americas.) One downtown possibility, more for quantity than quality, although the quality is not half bad, Todai Buffet in the Pacific Place shopping center (near Nordstrom HQ). Pretty fun place in the all-you-can-eat genre, amazing choices. Others will chime in with more suggestions I expect.
