Stormy Posted July 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2005 Has anyone seen these for sale on the ship? I think they're hard plastic with a waterproof gasket and a lanyard to carry it. They hold money, cruise card, etc while in the water...
Layla Posted July 3, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2005 Stormy - I haven't seen these for sale on board, but you can get them from Cruise Critic on-line.
Toto2Kansas Posted July 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2005 They sell a small neck type box with the Princess logo on them. We use them on land and on the ship to carry cruise cards and casino money. They have been available on every Princess ship we have sailed on, but I wouldn't actually consider them a 'wallet' since they are a small waterproof plastic type box on a lanyard. They do have the waterproof gasket and can be used to snorkel. These may be what you are looking for.
Guest caribcruzin Posted July 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2005 We have one of these kind. Much better than the hard plastic ones..... http://www.waterproofcases.net/603.html
danusia Posted July 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2005 I highly recommend the "Aquapac" waterproof cases, as well. My husband bought these for our recent trip to the caribbean, and they worked like a charm. Fit more into these than the regular waterproof "boxes" as this is a little more flexible. mountainhouse Posted July 3, 2005 #10 Share Posted July 3, 2005 Good to get these reports of which ones are reliable. Turst cruise critic, and not the manufacturer. I bought a pair of Speedo brand trunks that came with a so call "waterproof wallet." Lucky it was just credit cards and drivers' license that got wet. Toto2Kansas Posted July 3, 2005 #11 Share Posted July 3, 2005 We really like the small neck box that Princess sells. After all of our cruises we just had never bought one before. When I purchased one for myself DH wanted one too so he made a bee line down to the shops to get one from him. The price is very minimal for the use we got from it. Sorry, but ziplock bags are a bit harder to tuck away and make sure they don't fall out of your pocket, especially while snorkeling, where as these are right around your neck. It is not worth saving a 'few bucks' to take the chance on loosing your cruise card or money.
MaryPoppinz Posted July 3, 2005 #12 Share Posted July 3, 2005 These are great. You should be able to buy them locally at a dive shop or an outdoor place: http://www.witzprod.com/witzprod/product.cfm
Stevesan Posted July 3, 2005 #13 Share Posted July 3, 2005 If you need a certified (US Navy and SSI to depths of sixty meters) water proof wallet for diving/snorkeling try Aloksak/Splash Caddy. There's a wide variety of inserts and wallets. http://www.watchfuleyedesigns.com/index.cfm?do=list&categoryid=

Stormy Posted July 5, 2005 Author #15 Share Posted July 5, 2005 Thanks for the info! We're not "big" snorkelers, so we'll probably just pick one up in the ship store to save on paying shipping. thanks again.
