Aft cabins on FOS

We have cabin 1400 booked for our May 2014 Freedom cruise. First aft balcony. Can't wait. Any pics of the cabin and balcony?

If you go out to cruiselinerooms dot com, there are pix of most of the aft cabins on deck 10

I have had 7708 on the Freedom and 9406 on the Independence and loved them both. I did like 7708 the best. I have 1402 booked on the Freedom in less than 3 weeks.

I just booked 9406 on Independence for next April. I am so excited to hear that you loved it. We got hooked on aft balconies on the Explorer and then had a fabulous one on Liberty (2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table -- oh my). I don't know if I can go back to just an "ordinary" balcony. There is just something so nice about standing near the railing watching that wake.

Hope this answers some questions:

I'm in 7712 on Sept 22 sailing.

We were in 7408 December 2011 and I absolutely loved it, my wife who is subject to some sea sickness could usually not stand to be in the cabin. I am almost completely unaffected by the ocean's motion but she said it was rough. something about cabin alignment and the motion was just not right for her. After many cruises it was the only real time she has experienced the sea sickness over many days. Thankfully it was never full-blown sickness but this cabin was not right for her. Too bad as I loved it!

The room is a standard or maybe slightly bigger balcony cabin but the balcony is HUGE!!! I mean HUGE! We had about 20 people on it during a cabin crawl. I brought and hung a hammock from the ceiling of the balcony. So a hammock that could swing at least 180 degrees, 2 chairs, 2 loungers, and a table. HUGE!

Silence outside the cabin, some noise from family suite on 6th or 5th deck with kids but not a bother, crew smoking on 5th deck was occasional problem, and maybe trash incineration but not sure what it was made loud noise and stinky on rare occasion.

My wife had the same problem on Jewel when the sea got rough. The only thing we could come up with was that the bed was 90 degrees off from a side facing balcony, so we were rocking out of sync.

That is exactly why my wife thinks she was seasick in the cabin. It was a bit rough but I am just not prone to seasickness. We rescued some refugees on this cruise and the Coast Guard picked them up. I'm watching in amazement as the coasties stand sure-footed on a rolling deck and my wife is ready to give back lunch. Sadly we could have had this cabin again in Dec but not with the reaction my wife had. I LOVED the hammock (which I strung) on the balcony!

Book one of the corner cabins on deck 7 if you can get one. They are cheaper than most and the balcony is about the size of the cabin. There is no one on one side of you so noise is almost nonexistent. You do have some of the superstructure in your line of sight but you get used to it. There is about a 7 foot diameter port hole on the side of the balcony so you have an unobstructed view there. The balcony is one deck up from the roof of a lounge on deck 6 so it's not in the way. The balcony is the prize on this room. So, book it if you can get it.

We stayed in 8412. We could look out great! There is structure there though. Didnt bother us at all.

Let me know if you want cabin pics.

Wondered how you liked the suite and the view?

I just had 1706 last month on FOS and it was fantastic. The balcony was roomy, loved the Windjammer overhang giving us shade (since mom can't be out in the sun) and we heard no noise from the Windjammer at all. I will say that I wouldn't get any cabins on Decks 8 or 9 below that cabin since everyone above Deck 8 can look down on you (Deck 10 looks down on Deck 9 and Deck 9 on Deck 8). Yes, the superstructure "obstructs" the view, but I didn't find it bothersome. Jibberjabberers on their balconies below me bothered me more ;):D.

We had 2 loungers, 2 deck chairs, a small round table for between the loungers and a regular round table for the 2 deck chairs which made it easy to bring our meals to the cabin and eat there (especially breakfast on those crazy busy Windjammer port mornings).

I would not hesitate to book this cabin in the future.

We have stayed in 7708 and loved it!!! Would definitely try to get on of the corner afts since the balconies are huge and there is also a round opening to the side of the ship where there is no obstruction of the view!

Love corner aft room.long space out from aft didn't bother us.cabin with large port hole on side of balcony is the best.on 2 decks but not sure which.quiet in halls too.
