Haven Guests

We will be staying in a Haven suite for our cruise. Another family is coming on the same cruise and has not decided if they want to book a Haven room.

I'd like to know if I can invite that family (4 people) to my stateroom at different times. By no means do I mean using any of the outdoor (common) haven areas. I'm looking for times like an hour before dinner, maybe sail away, stuff like that and only inside the stateroom.

If it's no, that's fine....just want to know what to expect.

You can have guests to your stateroom anytime you want, for however long you want- no restrictions there. You can even arrange with your butler a time to have some snacks delivered for your group if you want- that sort of thing. The only areas that have some restrictions in terms of non-suite guests are the haven courtyards, decks, etc, and then the specialty restaurants for breakfast/lunch- your room is up to you! Enjoy!

Thank you both! I didn't want to do anything wrong! I guess I just let the person at the entrance know that I am expecting guests or do I go to the entrance and let them in?

They might choose to stay Haven anyway, but I just want to know.

And, if you want to walk them around the courtyard and other areas, that is fine. Spending time, taking up space from "Haven Residents" is not okay.

(some folks will come here and say you can not even walk them through the courtyard...I of course disagree with that part)

ha! rjm11 - great minds think alike :)

You usually have to escort them, because it's a key card access and they won't be able to get in. You can meet them at the doorway or elevator.

You will need to meet them and escort them to your cabin. Access to the haven area or deck requires a coded sign and sail card.

Ok thank you everyone. Having some fun snacks sounds like a good idea too...I don't think I would have thought of it so thanks for bringing it up. I hope they decide to book a Haven stateroom, but that is an individual choice and completely up to them. I'm sure we'll take turns "visiting" each others stateroom through out the cruise along with having the best time. It's still a way off, but I can't wait to experience this!

Walking them past the courtyard areas and in my case Epic Club is good business for NCL, it will make your friends envious. Next time they are guaranteed to book haven.

On my last Epic cruise I had the posh pass and took the elevator to the Epic Club to peek around(they key allows it) and I was hooked from there.

...

If I were to place a bet on this, I would say they would not book it. There is a reason that less than 5% (my guess) of cabins onboard are Haven. Not everyone can spend that kind of money.

(I would agree their chances of booking it go way up after a visit)

And don't forget, you can always book an Aft Haven Penthouse Suite. No security entrance and your friends could book the Aft Balcony, (non-Haven), right next to you. :D;):D

IMO best deal for the suite life. Great views and a healthy walk to the Epic Club and Haven Courtyard.

You can invite them to your stateroom at any time. I would let the concierge know so you can avoid the embarrassment of what happened to me and my guests.

I was chased by someone in the haven because he insisted that I was trespassing because I was not a guest of the Haven.

I informed him I was staying in the Haven and my guests were coming to visit. After a rather nasty confrontation on his part he checked my room and realized I was in the Haven.

Needless to say i never saw him again because he was completely wrong in his approach and attack and was probably given a different station to patrol

I was not embarrassed but my guests were

Just a jerk and not something I would worry about. In all our time in the Haven, there were extra guests from time to time. Some even sitting at a table in the courtyard having a quiet drink. Others knew it and nobody cared as things were so quiet. JEEZ!

We had a similar confrontation, but ours with with another passenger. Last year we were sailing on the Pearl to Alaska in an Owners Suite. We hadn't been up to the Haven since several other couples that were sailing with us were in suites but didn't have access to the Haven. One evening DH and I decided to go up to the Concierge Lounge to relax. As we were relaxing with a drink a gentleman  came up and proceeded to inform us that we were NOT allowed in the Haven. I asked him what made him think that we were not allowed there. He said that he had never seen us in the Haven before. My DH (god love him) asked the gentleman what stateroom he was in. He replied that he was in a 1 bedroom Haven suite. To which my DH replied that we were in an OS, which was several categories above his stateroom, and we were most definately allowed in the Haven. ( I didn't think DH had a clue about the ranking of the suites, go figure:p) How else would we have been able to access that floor let alone the Concierge Lounge. DH told him we could also call John D'Souza (concierge) if he would like confirmation that we were ALLOWED in the Haven. He just turned red and walked away. :D

After all the eating the walk will be just fine!

Great way to handle that situation. Sometimes my DH surprises me too....IMHO he never listens to me when I speak ;)

I also had a similar situation with a couple of GUESTs on our Mar. 2013 sailing on the Jewel which John D'Souza was the concierge "he must of jumped ships:)" I was in a GV that week and the last night was to cold to go in the Hot Tube on our balcony so I decided to go to the Haven Hot Tub. There was 1 couple in the hot tube and I asked if it was alright if I could join them, they responded back with the Haven area was only for Haven guest I informed them that I was and they asked me for proof so I told them that I would give them proof if they provided me with proof, I was not upset at all I guess that it was a ritual that they were in the Hot Tub at that time every night and have not seen me in the Haven the entire week. After a few minutes talking with each other they told me were they were staying and I told them were my cabin was, no confrontations just a pleasant exchange of information, they later appologized and explained that there were alot of non Haven quests that kept using the Haven and were told a number of times that this area was not available to them.

Right next door, but sadly can not enjoy the great breakfast or lunch perk...and/or you will have to with them to the MDR or Buffet.

Meals, schmeals.........Enjoy your balconies, (some can have the divider removed!), and eat separately, order room service together (some butlers will deliver Haven food for friends), or go to the MDRs or specialty restaurants together. It appears the aft balconies are to die for. We don't sail until next May but I can't wait. :D

(No disrespect intended, Gary. ;) )

For me, the b'fast and lunch perk was one of the best things about the Haven. I looked at other suites for other lines and it seems that Haven suites can't be beat.
