Disembarkation question

Does Costa allow passengers who wish to carry their own luggage (as opposed to leaving it outside the stateroom on the last night) disembark with the first group of passengers off the ship? Or does it go strictly by deck?

Sorry, never saw anyone disembarking with their luggage on my previous Costa cruises. Didn't know you could do this.

Other lines allow this (CCL, RCCL). We'll have a 10-hour drive home with kids who have to be in school the next day, so we like to get as early a start as possible. No big deal, just curious. Thanks for the info.

On the Costa Victoria we were allowed to disembark with our own luggage with the first group. I you have a reasonable amount of luggage I highly recommend doing it this way.

On the Caribbean cruises, the itinerary states you get back to Fort Lauderdale at 8 A.M., What time do you think it would be safe to plan a flight time?

I wouldn't imagine much before 12 noon. If you are booking yourself (and not thru Costa) you will inevitably incur any charges if the ship is late getting in or you are delayed in any way and miss the flight. Noon may even be a bit optimistic depending on transfers to the airport?
