Will they keep it Mistral, like "Costa Mistral" (weird!) ? or will they change it?
gstewart Posted September 1, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted September 1, 2013 What about the name? Will they keep it Mistral, like "Costa Mistral" (weird!) ? or will they change it? I do reckon it will be Costa Mistral. All their ships names end in an "a" except Costa Voyager which also came from Iberocruceros though. I wondered that but why would they rename her then lay her up? Other options are Costa Classica or Costa Victoria but doubt it's either of these. westerdam Posted September 24, 2013 #12 Share Posted September 24, 2013 It seems like the movement of the Mistral is not going to happen then as it states in the article that the 2 ships in question "came through company acquisitions; and the brand would have not built them." msclover Posted September 24, 2013 #13 Share Posted September 24, 2013 Seems like we're talking about the Mistral and the Voyager: "COO and Vice President Howard Frank added that the two vessels in question came through company acquisitions; and the brand would have not built them." but, gstewart, I agree with you...why would Costa rename it and then sell? Maybe the same strategy used for the Voyager (TAAJ Charters)?

Brazilian Guy Posted September 29, 2013 #16 Share Posted September 29, 2013 I wonder why not just Costa Riviera. Why NeoRiviera? Not sure about that one. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app I think it will be NeoRiviera because once there was a Riviera, and Costa does not have the habit of using the same name for different ships like P&O or Holland America. So, they put the neo, just to make it diferent. She'll operate from Dubai first, there's already some routes on Costa's italian site. After the winter season, looks like that she will replace the Voyager that will be laid up after the current season. And for those trying to find sense in renaming a ship to sell it. Costa is doing really strange things now. If not Mistral, there's Classica and Victoria, but both will be refurbished soon. Why they would spend money on the ships for selling them some time after? Nothing makes sense.
Sailaway487 Posted September 30, 2013 #17 Share Posted September 30, 2013 According to this site, it is Grand Holiday that will be leaving along with Costa Voyager: http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.seereisenportal.de/news/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.seereisenportal.de/news/archiv/2013/september.html%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D425 (afraid I've had to use Google translate as the original article was in German) Leaving Iberocruceros with just one ship. If true, will the brand continue?
