Brigbound Posted November 18, 2013 #51 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Ouch. Thanks! I know what you mean. A few here have found this policy unevenly enforced. The other work around is pouring a glass in your room and taking it with you. The room attendant will provide you a corkscrew and glasses upon request. It seems corkage fees usually equate to whatever the cheapest bottle of wine is on the list. If you want to bring in a $25 dollar bottle of wine, which would be $75 on the wine list it's worth it, but no point bringing in the $8 bottle of wine, as you could get it off the menu for the less than corking your $8 bottle. I think we will do the 5 bottle wine package and use our carry-on bottles for a pre-dinner glass of wine. Glad to see we can bring on some bottles now. We bring wine on board because we want to a more expensive bottle. The fee is not out if line as described and used by Nottooshabby. It is not advisable to bring a cheap bottle and pay a $25 corkage on a bottle you paid $10 and the ship sells for $35. $25 corkage is not out of line. We’ve seen it higher in many places. cruisercr Posted November 21, 2013 #56 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Does anyone know if we can purchase wine at one of the ports of call during the cruise and bring it on board for our room?

That would be against Royal's rules. They would take the wine from you and return it at the end of the cruise. Only wine brought on at initial embarkation is allowed to be brought to your stateroom.
