Epic TVs question

Hi. Is there any way of connecting portable devices, iphone etc., to the TV in an Epic stateroom, to play a movie? Similarly, is there a music player in the room that could be connected to an ipod/smartphone? Thanks, Ken.

Not sure about the Epic, but you can connect on other NCL ships.

 

BUT - and a big one - you can not change the input, so the connection will not help at all. Ships and hotels often block the ability to change the source. Cuts way down on trouble calls when people can not get their TVs to work.

Correct. You can attach things, but you can't switch the input source on the TV to actually see them :)

There are a LOT of mini speakers you can purchase for under $20 that will easily fit in your suitcase or carryon. Smaller than a baseball. They won't provide BIG sound (which you should not inflict on your neighbors anyway), but can provide nice background tunes. You can search on any major internet shopping site, like Amazon, for X-mini, AYL, iHome, etc. Here's one style (two different mfgrs)

I had read that if you want to watch a movie in your room - on the EPIC they charge for that -

 

Having been on over 6 NCL cruises and a few other lines - this is a first .

 

There were movies running all day on the TV or you could borrow a DVD and watch it in your cabin - all no charge.

I bought my son one of those in the microsoft store for under $25. He thinks the sound is great and he's 19.
