Question Re: Emerald

Has anyone sailed on her recently, and if so, are the T.V.'s still nice (no pay per view and allow hookups of DVD players, etc.)? Carnival totally screwed up the T.V.'s in their cabins, and I just want to make sure that this hasn't happened with Princess! Thanks!

No PPV on any Princess ship and unlikely to be any. The Royal is the first ship to offer on-demand movies from a large selection at no charge. This option is being rolled out on other Princess ships.

Ease of hooking up a DVD player depends on the TV. The new TVs are much harder to hook up. Even with the "old" TV options, there are 2-3 channels showing a variety of movies. One shows more recent movies, another shows classics and romances.

There was a recent report here that new TVs had been installed

on Emerald.

I think it would be a nice activity for pax if they brought back skeet

shooting, and used the previous viewsonic monitors as targets.

Sometimes there are video inputs; sometimes there are hdmi inputs;

even if the tv has the inputs, sometimes they are disabled, or

there is some after-market remote that can't access them;

sometimes they are inaccessable without tools.

Hook up a DVD? Maybe...

Thanks! DH is really good at figuring out how to use the hook-ups. We just have a few things that we like to watch on our own dvd player. Just cruised to Alaska on Princess, and were very happy with the televisions and movie and channel selections.
