jumbo336 Posted September 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2013 We are booked onto MSC cruise from Venice and back in a few days time. We are flying in from London the day before for a one nighter, and then upon returning to Venice at the end of the cruise, we are staying for another two nights. Question is this. On a previous visit to Venice we used the private taxi service (excellent but pricey), therefore we don't want to do that again. We need transport from airport to hotel. The next day transport from hotel to cruise terminal. Returning back to Venice we again need transport from terminal to hotel and two days later to the airport. Any suggestions to the alternative methods would be appreciated. Cheers. Dave.
dogandchief Posted September 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2013 Hi Jumbo336, This all depends on where your hotel in located in Venice (Piazzale Rome? San Marco Square? Mestre? Rialto?). Also what time does your flight arrive/depart at Marco Polo Airport? :)
euro cruiser Posted September 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2013 You haven't told us where you'll be staying so it's hard to be helpful. In general, if you are staying in Venice proper, there is an excellent express bus service that takes you from the airport to Piazzale Roma. The bus takes about a half hour and costs 6 Euro each way (11 Euro round trip). From Piazzale Roma you can take a vaporetto to your hotel, if it's in Venice. http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en&area=23&menuid=35&view_pc=! jumbo336 Posted September 11, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Should have been more specific. Both hotels are in Santa Croce area. Flight times aren't an issue as we are flying the day before the cruise, and departing two days after the cruise ends. I had heard that the bus service is v good. Thanks guys.
