Getting Indian Rupees during an Azamara excursion

Yes, we also went to Goa and Cochin. No real shopping in either of those places. We asked our guides in both places and their reply was "if you are going to Mumbai, I suggest you shop in Mumbai because the shopping is better there". If you would like more detailed info, provide me with your email address and I will be happy to send you details on each of those ports.

 

We will be first time cruisers going around india on 26/11/2014. Any helpful advice would be gratefully received. I hope you receive this message as I am not convinced that I am following the correct procedures.

I would suggest that you join your cruise's roll call to connect with others who will be on the same itinerary as you. There are instructions on how to do this on the sticky threads and elsewhere.

 

I would also suggest that you check the roll calls for similar Azamara itineraries (one this month and one in April 2014) to get ideas about private tours, hotel recommendations, flight arrangements, and related matters from people who will embark on Indian itineraries before your wonderful trip.

 

Further, I would suggest you look for recent relevant cruise reviews (Nov 2012 and April 2013), and to do a search with the port names and Azamara -- you'll find several of my postings. I did not find the general port review threads to be much help, but you might find otherwise.
