B2B Question

If we book B2B on the same ship and same room, do we have to pack at the end of the 1st cruise or can we just keep our stuff in our room?

Nope, just tell your steward and maybe remind Guest Services (they will probably already know). You will have to get off the ship and back on for customs purposes. And they'll give you a new Sail&Sign card.

But keep in mind that in reality you are on two separate cruises.

So you have to close out your casino account the last night.

You will recieve a final bill that could impact credit availability on the 2nd leg.

You will get a new S&S card with an entirely new folio number and possibly a new MDR and/or table assignment.

You should complete both checkin documents prior to your 1st cruise ie. new travel info, credit card info, emergency contact.....

You'll get a letter in your cabin a day or two prior to the end of the 1st cruise telling you where to meet with Guest Services to do all the turn around stuff. It usually happens around 9:30 or so on debarkation day.

You are welcome to come and go from your cabin all day, no need to stay away. I always tell my cabin steward to leave the turnover of my cabin to the next day if he wants to, that I just need clean towels but I spread up my own bed.

if you want the same table and servers let the MatraD know two or three days before the end of the first leg of your cruise. They will usually let you choose your table

I've had it go both ways too.

The first time was kind of a bummer, we had to get off the ship with all our new boarding documents go to VIP embarkation (there were about 8 of us) and check in just like normal, then we had to wait in a special area and were escorted back onto the ship just before (a few minutes before) the VIP passengers started to board.

On the Breeze this past January we got our new S&S card while on the ship and were dinged off and on the ship by Guest Services, then we just went single file and exited the ship walked past a customs agent to turn in our customs form and right back onto the ship.

We had the ship to ourselves for only about 45 minutes before embarkation began.

On the Fascination in April we did not have to get off the boat. We met one of the ships pursers at 10 am at the atrium bar and she took our customs forms left and came back 10 minutes later and said we were good to go. We had to get our new S&S cards from guest services. One note; when we tried to use our new S&S cards they didn't work. Back to guest services to be told it looked like we hadn't gone through security getting on the ship. I had to explain that we never got off the ship. It was fixed immediately and with a few smiles and thank you's. We did enjoy having the boat all to ourselves from around 9:30 until just after 11. Enjoyed chatting with a few of the entertainment staff in their "Just Ask" shirts as they waited for the new load of passengers. Took some great pictures of an empty boat. Actually liked it so much we're doing it again in about a month on the Elation! :D

If you have assigned dining and like your wait staff on the first cruise, talk to the MaitreD. We asked if we could be in the same section for the second cruise. He even asked us if we wanted the same table or another table in that section. When we got our Sign and Sail cards, we had the table we had picked out.

That's very thoughtful... and we did the same thing on our B2B last fall - the room stewards are VERY busy on turnaround day. Our steward said "oh no, I'll still take care of your room too" and we insisted that he didn't have to, and told him we were putting the "do not disturb" sign up all day so he would have no choice. :D He then gave us a very sincere smile and thanked us repeatedly, then got to work on the other rooms in our section.

We took advantage of the turnaround day to do a load of laundry and grinned the whole time... we were staying on for another cruise, and there's nothing better than that! :D

Great idea! This will be a perfect day to do laundry. We'll be the only ones using the laundry room! We will do the same for our steward.

Tipping question: On a B2B, do you tip your room steward at the end of the 1st cruise or wait until the very end and tip for both cruises at once?

We had same cabin steward and same waitstaff. We did tip extra at the end of each cruise.

We tipped our steward at the very end of the second cruise... and tipped him VERY well... he was phenomenal! :)

What happens if you're B2B with different cabins? Can baggage be held somewhere or brought right to your new room? Or does it come off with you?

We are booked b2b in November but may upgrade the cabin on the second leg only, so we're weighing our options :)

You pack your stuff and the steward will move it to your new cabin

  • 1 month later...
Once we get checked into the second leg of our B2B and have our Sign & Sail in hand, can we leave the ship and go explore New Orleans for a bit? We're thinking we might go eat lunch in the French Quarter.

Yes, you can. Those that choose this option are given paperwork that shows they are "in transit" or something like that.

When you return to the ship, show an employee the slip of paper & they will tell you where to go to avoid the long lines. Of course, you'd still have to go through security.
