First Haven Suite ever!!!!! Some questions

We just upgraded to a Haven courtyard penthouse suite. Category S5. We are on Breakaway in October. I had already booked entertainment and meals but some meal times were not what I really wanted. Can I call concierge to try to change times? Also, we never had a butler. Lol. What can a butler do for us? I thought we would like to have breakfast in our room one morning. Do I ask butler to arrange that for us? Do we tip the butler as the week goes on, each time he does something for us or do we tip him one tip at the end of the cruise? Any other things we should know would be wonderful. A new experience for us 😃. Thank you!!

You can call or talk to the concierge about your meal times, almost always he/she will be able to help you with that.

If you want a special breakfast, you talk to your butler about that. If you just want a "normal" roomservice breakfast, you leave your order outside the door the night before.

We normally tip our butler a few times during the cruise. If you prefer to tip at the end, that's okay too.

Hi. Your concierge can def try to change your times when you are onboard. No guarantee, but they are usually very good at accommodating suite guests.

I did a lot is pre booking restaurants and upon returning, I am not sure I would do that again. It's just my opinion but the haven restaurant was so nice, I probably would not have booked so many speciality restaurants. With all the pre booking I did, it kind of took away a bit of the freestyle concept, which I love. Just my opinion. Others may feel different.

I filled out the room service card every night and left it outside my door by 4am. Suite guests can write in whatever you want to eat for breakfast. Waffles, bacon, eggs Benedict etc. if it is on the ship, you will get it. :)

Our butler was wonderful. Hubby tried to tip him once and he refused to take it and told hubby, if you think I deserve a tip you can give to me when you leave. Or something to that effect. He was wonderful, so he was tipped generously when we left.

We did not ask for much from the butler. We were escorted to the jungle fantasy dinner , and had our choice of seats before anyone else arrived. He brought us snacks every afternoon. Anytime you order room service, your butler usually brings it. Tell your butler if you have certain snacks you like. For example I love the pretzel rolls. Dh mentioned it once, and I had pretzel rolls right from the oven. If you have food allergies, let him know. You could always write down a list of snacks you enjoy . Fruit, canapés, pretzel rolls, finger sandwiches etc. When in doubt of an answer, usually the butler or room steward found an answer for us. :)

Our butler even bought caviar once. It was priceless seeing my kids trying it and asking what they were eating. Lol

I know that I am forgetting some things.

Enjoy the suite life. You may have a very hard time returning to a non haven room.

Someone on cruise boards mentioned how excited they were in getting priority luggage tags because they are in a suite. I printed mine out from computer and they are just normal luggage tags. Am I missing out on something?

The suite luggage tags come in the mail about a month before sailing. If you booked through a TA they're usually sent to the TA and the TA mails them to you. If booked directly through NCL they'll come to you.

As 1witchydiva mentioned the Haven restaurant meals were delicious. The menu is the same everyday but for dinner they do offer the special being served in the main dining room for that day. You can also order specialty restaurant meals to the Haven restaurant. You still get charged the cover fee. I ordered the Dover Sole from Ocean Blue into the Haven restaurant. I wasn't charged the full $49 bc I only ordered a main course and no apps from there. Whatever you want you can get!

I ate all my meals in the Haven restaurant. I canceled all my other reservations to the specialty restaurants while onboard bc the food and service are excellent in the Haven restaurant. Enjoy the suite life!!

You could call the pre-concierge (1-855-625-4283) and try and change your dinner times.

I agree with Godiva one thousand percent. :)

I loved the staff, energy and atmosphere of the haven restaurant. The staff really went out of their way to make you happy. Especially mr Singh, the maitre d there. Wonderful. My daughter and I did not want an appetizer one night and the waitress's kept mentioning food not on the menu that she could bring us.

I also feel that having the Haven to retreat too, was wonderful.

I hope you have a great time!!!!!!
