Back from the Breeze, never again.

We have been on Carnival several times, will be on the Breeze in January. The scrambled eggs are ok if you put them in grits, that is the way I like them anyway. If you go on a ship, you should know that the scrambled eggs are not "real" eggs anyway. You can get your eggs anyway you want them, so you did not have to eat the scrambled eggs. We have never had a problem with the food on Carnival, if we do not like what the menu looks like for the evening, we just go to the buffet. My DH, when he was in the Navy, eat powdered eggs all the time, even though he could get "real" eggs a lot of times.

I would eat real eggs in grits but not that stuff .

I wonder how long Carnival would stay in business if every passenger was allowed to complete their cruise, come home, and get a 110% refund? Have you considered that your expectation is unreasonable?

Every cruise line is not a good fit for every passenger. Perhaps a land-based vacation would better suit your needs. If you found something not to your liking on land, you could more easily get up and leave. Part of the cruise experience is taking things as they come and adapting when things don't go as planned. And you can bet that on a cruise ship, things don't always go as planned. Some of my most interesting cruises were the ones where things didn't go as planned. And even when something ends up unfavorably, I still think Carnival offers the best value at sea.

I'm sorry you were not satisfied. I hope things work out better for you on your next vacation.

Well said ! I too wondered how the OP would think she could get back 110% at the end of the cruise LOL

Not to mention that guarantee has been around awhile

Another bit of confusion : Breeze started out with the Playlist productions, and the 2.0 bells and whistles. Nothing changed since the DDand DH were on last April - my guess is they just enjoyed themselves and were happy

You bring up a very good point - cruises are NOT for everyone...there is no harm in saying you don't enjoy them. Island (non inclusive) vacations are NOT for me - I tried it once, enjoyed but found the cost of food, figure where to eat, cab drivers, rip off drivers was just too much anxiety, also did not feel good about leaving resort at night...no thanks

Some people here want to convince people to cruise and I wonder why?? If someone is very negative before their first cruise and going on about "walmart of seas" and what neighbors, friends, co workers say regarding Carnival, cruises, worried about Concordia, blah blah ....I say ...stay home

I think some of the really ridiculous reviews with one star are from people who should have stayed off ships - they have so many misconceptions : a good example is some newbie whining that "pop" (soda) is not free

or that the pools are salt water or that they could not take their 7 mo old in the pool with swimmies

Stay home...it makes sense. I certainly am not one to encourage them - and I have to wonder at people who are so concerned to try to convince others they don't know to spend $1000, $2000 or more on a cruise vacation? Would they try to talk reluctant people into a tattoo or plastic surgery or try to plead with them to buy a certain car or remodel their home or ?? I don't get it

Don't like cruises (afraid to cruise, think it is gonna be boring, afraid of seasick, afraid it won't be "classy", afraid of Walmart) do us all a favor and stay home

I am sorry but a statement like 110% back at end of cruise destroys all credibility

I've had scrambled eggs in buffets in places like Kissimmee Fl and the worst was moderate (just don't like em runny). If can't add salt and pepper to em and make em decent, it's a problem. How in the world do you mess up scrambled eggs:confused:

I understand they are real eggs. They bake them. Apparently that is what makes them so bad.

And when I can not get in line for an omelet, I too, get the boiled eggs. They are always delish.

I have sailed a lot, too. Those scrambled eggs are on every cruise line. And you can also find the omelet station on every cruise line and get fried eggs, scrambled eggs and omelets. I still enjoy breakfast on cruises. that is my favorite meal. We usually eat in the MDR.

Well said. And the cost..well said too. I took my daughter, SIL and granddaughter to Disney this last summer. We did get a Florida Resident rate on two rooms at the Value Sports Resort in Disney...$700+ for 3 nights. then breakfast at the "market" there. Talk about eye popping. Fifty dollars to eat breakfast which was mostly cereal and milk.

Lunch. in the parks...over $12 for a hot dog, a spot of cole slaw, 50 cents bag of chips and a small soda.

Dinner..........we went outside. We like Olive Garden. over $150, Carrabbas..ditto.

.Then Tickets for 2 days..$800 dollars....I spent more in 3 days..than on a week cruise. ...and we were staying in inexpensive resorts.. we were not Dining at the Grand Floridan, add in gasoline. One dinner at the Polynesian Resort. ..and I spent more in 3 days there..than it is costing me to take them on a cruise on the Dream in March. And they have a deluxe O.V and we have a Cove Balcony.

On a cruise. You can budget. Save for what you want to do. You know the cost of excursions. The Steak House. How much you will spend in the Casino. ( not much for me. but I do enjoy going some.).......this someone coming at you every five minutes with a charge for this and that...+ tip.......................Cruises have spoiled me. I like knowing the price. Paying it. And then other than pictures, excursions and sodas.....already paid.

I'm really sorry you didn't have a good time. When we sailed on Liberty and saw the Breeze we were like "We WANT to go on that ship" then I started thinking, we don't use the slides, ropes, pools or any of the kid stuff so why do I want to go on there specifically.

I'm glad they at least tried to help you.

I enjoyed the food once I found what I liked. The eggs AND sausage..ick (I'm not really a bf person anyway) but then I found the breakfast burritos at the Blue Iguana and I was set. Lunch and dinner were always fine for us.

I went on the breeze 9-28 . I booked a aft room 9480. Loved the ship. Very modern . I never notice any smell. Yes , I read all the reviews of aft rooms. The view was great. I enjoyed the food. The ship was big but had enough seats on lido deck for people to sit down . The staff was friendly, the ship clean. I am a platinum member.

I totally agree. This was our FIRST AND LAST Carnival cruise Very little was good. They pushed drinks EXTREMELY hard.....ALLthe time. Give me a break. We were on the DREAM. It was a nice ship....but little to do but PARTY AND DRINK.Fortunately they had Punchliners Comedy Club. I noticed many people like us at every performance....excellent comedians. Most of the crew was friendly....but slow.We waited an average of 30-45 minutes in the dining room for our dinners after ordering.....totally unaceptable. Most food very blah....andVERY small quantities. I ordered 2 prime rib dinners to get 2 pieces of meat the size of a soup spoon. The cold soups were excellent.....but you cant survive on soup.

END RESULT: never Carnival again.....back on Princess ......

This was Our experience.....off the ship inPort Canaveral yesterday. I hope all of you that love Carnival have a better experience.

By using powdered egg mix instead of real eggs.

Most likely using pasteurized liquid egg to help prevent the bad stuff like salmonella etc. This is a 100% egg product. "Powdered" eggs went out sometime in late 1945.

Sailing the Breeze for second time in 3 weeks. 1st time around last March was a delightful experience. With the new, subtle, décor this is one awesome ship!

I was looking into booking the breeze so I am enjoying reading this thread.

...Do not hesitate to book a cruise on the Breeze. See my cruise history below? I can honestly say that our Breeze cruise earlier this year was definitely one of our top three cruises!

...Service was excellent, room stewards were fantastic, piano bar and the casino were fun, Red Frog Pub had super drinks and nice finger food and the MDR/buffet food was very good. OK, most of it. Have to agree with previous posters. I was warned in advance of the scrambled eggs in the buffet, but had to try them for myself. Ick. No problem, just grab some omelets or even better, some breakfast burritos at the Blue Iguana Cantina!

...We do like the full production shows in the showroom, so the Playlist Production shows were a little disappointing. But they were definitely watchable. Nobody walked out and the room was filled. Comedy shows, both PG and R rated were very good. Room was packed and heard grumbling from some that the lines were too long and couldn't get inside.

...We usually book either inside cabins or ocean view cabins. We have stayed in balcony cabins and to us, they are really no big deal. We live on a small lake in South Florida, so I guess a view of water and palm trees are the norm for us. On our Breeze cruise, we booked a Cove balcony. Absolutely fantastic and we highly recommend it! Our cabin was right off the Atrium and we felt it was a great location.

...Overall, we felt that this was a great vacation on an even better ship. So good in fact, that we are booking our second Breeze cruise in a Cove balcony while we are on our Liberty cruise this coming February! Book this ship with confidence. You'll love her!

I too, don't care too much for the "Playlist Production" shows. We sailed "Breeze", in September, and at that time they had 8 singer/dancers for the shows. Every time I've seen the "Playlist Production" shows on other ships, they used only 4 singer/dancers, so I thought that perhaps Carnival was trying to rectify the bad reviews being given those shows. Guess not? Other than that, we had a GREAT time aboard "Breeze", with no problems at all.
