candfandm Posted September 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2013 I plan on taking a bus to a beach but not really planning on getting chairs to just hang out. Would like to just see the water and walk the beach for about an hour. Would Royal Palms be recommended or should I go further down to another area. runner15km Posted September 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2013 That's a good drop off point, I walked back to the ship starting from that area. It was a easy walk, stopped at a few beach bars for some adult beverages. Your ship will most likely be in view until you run out of beach and then you will need to walk up to the street to return to the pier.

If you're not planning on using the facilities at the Royal Palms I don't see why you'd want to pay their entry fee and deal with the crowds. There's plenty of free beach access, and the beaches themselves are public up to the high tide line. Shore front properties are required to have paths for beach access, so just look for the small brown signs with a swimmer on it that say "Beach Access".
