cruzfiend Posted September 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Has anyone been charged an additional resort fee at their hotel that they "won" on Priceline? I just got the La Concha and on my summary of charges it lists taxes and fees already.

OntarioTraveller Posted September 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2013 We have stayed at La Concha precruise and really enjoyed it. Don't know about resort fee as we used Marriott points. Great pools (heated!) and location is nice for buying soda or anything else you need. Many restaurants nearby as the hotel food is expensive. We asked for late check-out so we could enjoy the hotel for a longer time before heading to the ship.

slidergirl Posted September 25, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 25, 2013 It's a pretty common thing now for hotels and resorts in popular vacation locations to charge a "resort fee." These are always in addition to the normal room & tax charge. They can "cover" an array of things that you may or may not use (ex., parking, Internet, morning paper & coffee, beach toys, etc.). It's a way to make you feel that you are not paying as much per day for your room rate ;) Some loyalty programs will either waive the fee or "eat it" themselves if a guest is going a stay on points. Sometimes, it is up to the individual hotel, YMMV.
