Oh Jane, we can't make it.

My situation at work changed drastically last week and now it seems we can't cruise until next spring :(:(:(

Bummed, but nothing we can do about it.

Thanks for all the pictures. We took this cruise in June with our friends from high school. He was retiring from teaching. We were lucky to get a balcony because a few days before sailing RCCL upgraded us. We have pictures of the seals right below us in the Tracey Arm Fjord. It was warm to whole trip. We are from Maryland.

Lucky you, WOW! Both on the upgrade and the seal part :)

Thanks for reading.

Rhapsody has many commemorative plaques right around the corner of the Guest Services on deck 5.

The Dining Package was sold also on board.

Here you can see the R Bar. Our cabins were on deck 4 and very close by, so we came here quite often. We always got excellent service and gave some extra tips to the bartenders here as they remembered our favourite drinks by Day 3.

Due to the stress of the day, we were all pretty beat early. We went for a quick dinner in the Windjammer and hit the sack right after sunset.

Thanks everyone for reading. I will be back tomorrow for fun to come!

Hello! Love your reviews along with your wit and charm. Your group always brings a smile to my face and feel as if we know you just through your great reports and photos. We sail four times a year so if we ever see you guys on a ship we will be delighted to say hi and offer your crew a cocktail!...K.O.:)

Sinny-I am enjoying your review immensely! Great photos and it looks like you travel with a fun group. Alaska is my favorite cruise destination so far-twice in the last two years, both with Princess. Your photos have reminded me that I need to go again...

Great review which moves along nicely...a "page-turner". Lots of good humor.

Thanks!

Ha! Did everyone see that? Everyone?? I've been offered a drink. That's like getting paid to write a report, right? Can I now call myself a professional writer? :D:p

Thanks!!!

Thanks for your fantastic review. It looks like they have taken the staircases out of the centrum and also changed the beautiful curtain they had in the show room.

Loved this Sinny! Thanks for posting! Can't wait to go again next year!!

Thank you so much to you both.

More to come. Soonish.

Wow, it's amazing the difference a few months make. I've been to the Tracy Arm Fjord twice now, both in May and the glacier looks so different!

So back to the track everyone!

Sorry about the delay.

Where were we? Ahhhh yes.

Food porn.

20130827_203725.jpg

Creamed Wild Mushroom. Mine and Thommo's. Not particularly tasty, but went down anyway.

20130827_203740.jpg

Classic Caesar Salad. Lowry's and Ann's choice. The portion is small but they both said it tasted good.

WP_20130828_20_37_37_Pro__highres.jpg

Roasted Peach soup. Anouk liked this one, but then she liked all the fruity appetizers.

WP_20130828_21_00_00_Pro__highres.jpg

Today was lobster night. Ohhh yes.

The girls went for the seafood but the boys both stuck to the sliders.

The lobster was excellent and we all got a second tail (without asking!) so we were SO stuffed after dinner we had a hard time deciding what to have for dessert.

WP_20130828_21_36_06_Pro__highres.jpg

I went for the Ivory Chocolate Mousse. It was only coffee for Anouk and one scoop of ice cream for everyone else.

This evening the boys did a great job.

WP_20130828_21_55_47_Pro__highres.jpg

It was supposed to be the parade tonight but just as we saw the waiters starting to gather around the stairs there was an "Alfa, alfa, alfa, Edelweiss deck 4" announcement.

We then saw the maitre'd talk to the waiters and they quietly returned to work.

We were of course curious and Alejandro explained that Alfa is a medical emergency. We all felt a bit subdued, so our wonderful MDR team did their best to raise our spirits.

And this trick with the wine bottle, two toothpicks and a fork managed to make us all happy again. It was really cool.

20130827_214452.jpg

Yes, it's the chef again. He greeted us every night.

WP_20130827_20_12_41_Pro__highres.jpg

It was a beautiful sunset tonight.

We went to see the CD Graham Seymour's Late Night Comedy today. We thought he was absolutely hilarious but as stated previously, some people found him insulting and rude. He was both. Yeah, our sense of humour is mean.

And a word of warning!! If you take wine glasses to the theatre, make sure they fit into the glass holders. I lost a good bit of red wine when I put down my glass and the rim was too wide for the bottom.

No harm done. I licked it from the carpet.

;)

Day 6 is another sea day with plenty to do on the CruiseCompass. Ann and Anouk managed to book themselves Salon Combos, one at 8.30am, the other at 10am.

They book up really fast as the girls called in as soon as we saw the offer and they only had two time slots left

I'm absolutely loving your trip report... looks like you all had an amazing time!

We did! That was the best part. It was the first time we all traveled together and we had only one little 2-minute argument in Vancouver (well, Anouk and Lowry did).

It was wonderful.

The cruise, not the argument.

Wow. I'm glad we decided on a later cruise instead of an early one.

Thanks for reading and the pictures!

We anticipated a slow day today but ended up doing a lot!

Ann returned a book she had borrowed the first day but never opened.

20130823_202123.jpg

We watched the towel folding demonstration.

WP_20130828_11_34_31_Pro__highres.jpg

We signed up all our 3 first-timers to C&A (wohooooo....mission accomplished. Now Royal, where's my commission??)

IMG_3472.JPG

We watched the second Aerial performance and the Flash Mob right after it.

WP_20130828_14_24_26_Pro__highres.jpg

WP_20130828_14_27_29_Pro__highres.jpg

We rode all the elevators looking for the weekday signs -no luck.

We pre-bought...I mean, everyone else pre-bought their bingo cards and then we had lunch in the uncrowded Park Café.

IMG_3478.JPG

IMG_3480.JPG

We had a pre-bingo drink. I introduced the girls to my favourite, Key Lime Pie Martini. They first just wanted to try my drink.

WP_20130828_14_00_45_Pro__highres.jpg

And that's how they ended up on the dark side.

WP_20130828_14_35_53_Pro__highres.jpg

Then it was bingo time with Lucky Lee...

IMG_3419.JPG

"Really, some people do take this whole bingo thing too far. I mean just look at those two in front of us... those two who look like Lowr....oh no. Oh no."

After bingo they had the 60 seconds or Less Game Show and we stayed on to watch. It's fun for the whole family and the tasks are surprising.

IMG_3487.JPG

Relaxing.

IMG_3489.JPG

We went to dinner straight from the theatre.

We hadn't booked anything tonight and when we came to the door, we were asked to wait a few minutes so that they could clear a table for us.

We saw free tables and wondered about it, but again the staff showed their worth: they wanted us to have Bras and Alejandro.

Awwwwwwwwww.

20130828_215638.jpg

And next up....the infamous....food porn!

20130827_203752.jpg

A green salad for Anouk and Ann, who had also developed a love for the Roast Beef sandwiches and now wished for something lighter.

20130828_203750.jpg

Oh shoot. This is the Creamed Wild Mushroom which I already thought I posted...

I knew that. Just testing how well you readers know your dishes and your menus.

20130828_210124.jpg

Rib-Eye. Boys had it but didn't become fans.
