roscoegirl Posted September 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2013 Anyone have experience with requesting a topper for their bed? Cruising Glory in February.- can we bring one? Hi... I was just on the Pride in August...mattress was a bit too firm for me -- mentioned this to the room attendant and the topper was on my bed later that evening! You should be able to get one...:)
NavarreCruiser Posted September 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2013 We have asked for toppers a number of times, depending on the mattress, they sometimes help a lot, sometimes a little.
Jenal2 Posted September 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2013 First thing we do on every cruise is ask the room attendant for an egg crate. No reason not to if you aren't a fan of firm beds. No matter the mattress, it will make it more comfortable
slickl Posted September 20, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted September 20, 2013 Thanks a bunch everyone! I will now rest "easy". Now just counting the days...
Sarahsmomi Posted September 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 22, 2013 Is there a way we can request this in advance of sailing? Thanks :)
OCruisers Posted September 22, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 22, 2013 Guess we've been lucky ... but have always found our bed comfy without a topper on Carnival ships. LuLu ~~~~
sanmarcosman Posted September 22, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 22, 2013 Every time I have requested one from the steward I have been told they were all out. The steward offered to put a comforter on the mattress as a pad and then remade the bed. It helped do the trick on one 8 day cruise when the mattress was as hard as a marble slab. Kudos2Fly Posted September 22, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2013 I have never asked on a Carnival cruise, but did on Royal Caribbean cruise once.
danielsumner Posted September 22, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 22, 2013 HAL and Princess has decent beds, Carnival not so much. We buy a new EggCrate topper pad when they are on sale cheap. Pack it in an extra bag/duffel, you can use it to bring home souvenirs. Your steward will put the nice clean new pad on the bed. Just leave it when you leave, it was cheap and on sale anyhow. Midwestgal Posted September 22, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 22, 2013 I brought my own on my last cruise, we stopped at Target the day we flew in and had it for the next day...I'm happy I did.
