  1. Change before final payment and even sooner. We are in Florida so don't have that issue any more. But if you think returning from a cruise will be a hard hit to you financial and other wise change it now. Let Carnival know ahead of time. We had this issue back in June. Had a cruise booked with our grandkids. Didn't know what was going on with the whole Covid 19 thing. They extended our payment date to help us out. But we ended cancelling anyways. They worked with us. Be up front with them.
  2. We have never personally booked that far out. We normally do 6-8 months or very much lasted minute. We work for our selves so can't predict anything with our business that far out. Only a few times did we plan 10 months out and it was because of a "bigger" family group was involved.
  3. Fascination was the first ship I sailed. Fascination (2), Inspiration (1) and Sensation (4) times. I'm not surprise they were the first ships to go. Even if Covid 19 didn't happen I think they would have been either sold or scrap in the next few years. Carnival is using the bigger ships now for 3-4 day cruises. Sad to see them go, but it was bound to happen.
  4. Just booked this cruise. We had a June cruise booked, but of course was cancelled. We finally rebook for this cruise. We do have our grandkids booked with us. Not sure if they will come or not right now. We live about 2 hours from the port. Hopefully all four of us will go. Looking forward to this cruise. First time I will be sailing on a NEW ship.
  5. My guess is we would stay on the ship. If I was going to some place I have been to a lot like Bahamas. We don't do excursions anymore at places like Cozumel or Bahamas. So if we had to do a tour through the ship just to get off, then we wouldn't. We sometimes like to go to a few restaurants we like in each of those places. I would like to spend money at local restaurants, so it would be a loss to them. So hopefully that doesn't happen.
  6. We had our June cruise cancelled. We really cancelled before the final payment date. We originally put down $200 for four people for a 4 day cruise. I didn't book right away either. A few months later get a call from someone from Carnival, telling me I also had an $300 credit. I wasn't aware of that, I knew I had the 200 for a future cruise credit. We just got a call last week from Carnival promoting the $50 dollar deposit to book another cruise. We ended up paying $100 to book the two grandkids also. We booked on the Mardi Gras for a 7 day. I haven't seen my $200 future credit or the $300 onboard credit yet. We just booked yesterday.
  7. True that there is a difference. When booking talking to the agent he said they are planning on sailing Mardi Gras in Feb, but only 70-75% of people on board. They may start out this year with only shorter cruises. But next year they will want to ramp up pretty quickly. He said Carnival had no plans to sail any of the ships full. Only 70--75% all of 2021.
  8. We had a 4 day booked back in June with the GrandKids, but got cancelled of course. We live in Florida. I personal don't know anyone that has come down with Covid 19. I have a LOT of second hand stories. But we just booked a 7 day on Mardi Gras. So Carnival is providing 7 day cruises. We do have the kids booked on this cruise and hoping to get other family members to come along.
  9. Okay thanks... I think that helps. We have only cruise with them on Carnival which has the bunk bed style sleeping... So has worked. But my not work as they get older.
  10. Thank you, they do share a bed at our house for right now. But it's queen but will be changing that soon also. But I don't know how big those sofabeds are. But if they are smaller then a queen that probably will be an issue. Thank you for the info.
  11. The rooms would be connecting. I wouldn't want it any other way. As for rooms 1688/1388 I would just be getting one. Being those rooms seem to be double the space then a standard balcony. I would be either getting a connecting balcony or just one room either 1688 or 1388. On my last post it sounded like I would be getting both those rooms... LOL not.
  12. I also posted this in the Royal Caribbean area. But may get a better response here. We had a cruise planned with our grandkids for June on a different cruise line "Carnival". We had a nice ext. balcony in the back of the ship. Of course that was cancel due to the "virus". Planning on rebooking this time with Royal Caribbean to give the kids the experience on a larger ship. Mariner of the Seas because it's close to us, don't feel like driving down to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami for 3-4 day cruise. Haven't booked anything yet, but looking at prices of rooms. Looks like for about the same price we could either book connecting balcony rooms or room 1688/1388. That's if those are available for when we book. There will be two adults and two kids 10 & 12. We have done 3 other cruises in one room before. But looking at room space as they get older. If you had a choice which room would you book?

  14. Thanks for the information... plus pictures. Gives me a better ideal.
  15. Thank you, although we can but didn't want to be always climbing over beds. The room does look like it has a lot of room.
