Fun Ship dollars

Has anyone bought the Fun SHip Dollars from Carnival to useas a credit on their S & S card? Though this might help with the final bill at the end of the cruise.

I used Funship dollars on my last two cruises and have been buying them bi weekly for my cruise coming in February. (I noticed that the ones I am getting now have a expiration date so dont but them now for a cruise in 2 years)

In the past I have also got photo coupons. drink coupons, soda coupons to make my s&s bill as light as possible,

How far out are the expiration dates on the Funship dollars?

Pretty far--- THe ones I am getting now expire 07/24/2007

 

Funship dollars did not always have expiration dates.

 

Now I wonder if other coupons like the drink coupons or soda coupons will have a date. THe ones I got in February did not.

In 01-05 I cruised with two other couples, my mom and my sister. Funship dollars made my Christmas Shopping sooo easy. My children gave us $250 funship dollars. It was the Christmas gift that kept on giving right on to my S&S.

 

I plan to do my Christmas shopping the same way this year for my Liberty Cruise.

Can you purchase funship dollars without a booking to use to purchase a cruise?

Yes you can-- they also sell gift certificates which can be used to purchase a cruise.

anything you want on a cruise ship-- excursions. drinks. get money for the casino (pay 3%) anything at all that you would sign for on your cruise.

 

 

Funship dollars can only be placed on your shipboard account. You cant just walk into the store onboard and use the dollar. (increments of 25.00)

You do get them in the mail. on the back it states they must be sent in bepfore 2 weeks before your cruise...I never did that. I took them with me on my cruise and took it to the pursers desk. If questioned why I didnt mail them in-- i woulda told them i just got them as gift recently. But I was never questioned.

My brother in law actually forgot to use the funship dollars I gave him as a Christmas gift. On the last day he remembered and just had them applied to his very large S&S balance.

I bought them, and they asked if I would like them mailed. I asked them to put them on my account, and in two days I saw the credit on the invoice info screen under the modify reservation. I would suggest jotting down the purchase confirmation number in case things go awry though:)
