Ulupalakua HWY 31 South to Coast ?

Is there a road from Ulupalakua to the southern coast of Maui...maybe to one of the coastal towns....Makeno or Wailea?

Nope, not directly - you have to return to Kahului to get to the south coast (Wailea, Makena area). This is not entirely true actually -- there IS a private road that exists but it's locked and not accessible unless you have the key. The key is a valued hot commodity amongst long time Maui residents! :)

I believe the road Spleen refers to is Makena road. You can read about it at this site, scroll down to Makena road.http://www.hawaiihighways.com/maui.htm
