nc_cruiser1 Posted September 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2013 We are booked on Fascination during Christmas week, 5 day cruise. We have chosen a mid-ship balcony cabin: E83 (category 8D - deck 7 - Empress deck). But there are a couple mid-ship balconies left on the main deck (category 8B). We prefer Empress - we think - but wondering if we should change - have heard Empress might be noisy with proximity to Atrium and guest services (it's 7 cabins down the corridor from that) and being directly below the Sensation dining room. Any advice much appreciated.
mfk Posted September 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2013 We sail on the Fascination 2-3 times a year as we live in Jax. Always book on the Empress deck. Midship and we never hear any noise. Love because it is so close to get to everything. Have fun. We are sailing her again on Nov. 2. Can't wait.
aggiejade Posted September 24, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2013 I was two doors down from the Atrium in E57 a few weeks ago and heard absolutely no noise from the Atrium. It's a fantastic deck to be on! My advice is to stay in the cabin you have.
oldrailfan Posted September 24, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2013 We've had E67 on one cruise, and E90 on another. E67 is right around the corner from the Atrium, behind Guest Services. The only noise I've ever heard in those cabins is the same sort you may hear on ANY deck - late night revelers talking loudly and can't keep their feet under them so they're bumping into doors and bulkheads... We did make the mistake of taking a cabin under the galley on one cruise (E177 I think) and there were galley noises (machinery of some sort) but they were gone by about 11:00 PM every night. Ditchdoctor Posted September 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2013 We always stay in E63 on the Fantasy, I know it's not the same ship, but it's a Fantasy class ship. We have never had any problems with noise. We really like the cabins in that area.
