purplemusik Posted September 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2013 I love the pics on so many of your reviews where they had the towel animals up on deck early morning. I'm booked on the Dream and I know the kids would LOVE this. Do they do it on all ships now? How early are they there? Do you think upon getting on board I can ask someone what day they are planning it so I can make sure they see it?
Elaine5715 Posted September 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2013 It is very rare. It takes hundreds of hours to put that together.
ccruisequeen Posted September 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2013 It was on Inspiration The first day. So cute. Monkeys hanging from Sun umbrellas around the hot tub and real chair "hogs" (pigs)

Only seen in others photos. I think it would be cool. I know my DH would think it was neat too.
carncruiser1964 Posted September 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2013 They were on the lido deck on the Dream the morning we pulled into Costa Maya. Do not know what day on the eastern side, but we were told they do it once a cruise.
KPfromCT Posted September 28, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2013 They did it on our Breeze Cruise in April. I think it's usually the 2nd to the last day. It is a MUST see!!!:D:D So many chair hogs:rolleyes:
Georgiagolfer Posted September 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Don't remember which day, but they did this on our 5 day Fascination cruise in June. Really neat to walk out on Lido and see all those towel animals.:D

KPfromCT Posted September 28, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Early!!!! The crew does it overnight, so it's ready at sunrise. If you have the shipmate app on your cell phone, and look at the deck cams, you can watch all 60 pictures in a slideshow format, and you can actually see the crew getting this all set up. It's AMAZING!!!!!:D:D:D
KPfromCT Posted September 28, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 28, 2013 It is very rare. It takes hundreds of hours to put that together. Not true. If each housekeeping member makes ONE or TWO animals, it takes less than an hour:rolleyes: Hundreds of hours seems like a bit of a stretch. Cinders411 Posted September 28, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 28, 2013 I have never seen this on any of my cruises. Hope they do it on my Ecstasy or Dream cruise coming up!

If each housekeeping member makes ONE or TWO animals, it takes less than an hour:rolleyes: Hundreds of hours seems like a bit of a stretch. 100 crew members each spending an hour to make towel animals is 100 crew hours. Two hundred crew members spending an hour making towel animals is 200 crew hours..all on top of their regular duties..pretty impressive..

I highly doubt it takes them an hour to make one or two towel animals. You are entitled to your opinion, and me, to mine. Happy cruising.:D:D
Orlandocruisers Posted September 28, 2013 #14 Share Posted September 28, 2013 We just got off the Ecstasy and they had the pool animals on last sea day. It was great! Thanks to the crew that made it possible.:):)

SkyMaster Posted September 28, 2013 #16 Share Posted September 28, 2013 I've seen it aboard "Ecstasy", "Paradise", and most recently aboard "Breeze". Great fun, and it makes a beautiful photo. Yes, they do it very early in the morning, so that it's all done when most folks are coming up to Lido for early morning coffee, or breakfast. "SKY"
purplemusik Posted September 28, 2013 Author #17 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Do you guys think if I ask customer service when I get on board they would know what day they were doing it ( if at all )? Else wise I guess I'll just be setting an alarm to get up at the crack of dawn to make sure we see it ;)
eliterror Posted September 28, 2013 #18 Share Posted September 28, 2013 On my recent B2B on the Fascination, there were many towel animals all around the main pool the last sea days early morning. Very fun!:D
pungo3 Posted September 28, 2013 #19 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Just got off the Dream today. They did the towel animals by the pool on Thursday morning, early. They were there at 8am, and by 10am, they were gone. Extremely cute, and worth getting up a little early for.:D

I think I've seen them on every cruise I've taken in the last year or so. ;) "SKY"
58Piano Posted September 28, 2013 #23 Share Posted September 28, 2013 We were just on Carnival Paradise. They did it they day we were in Cozumel. I did not have my camera with me. I missed some great photos. The animals were everywhere. By the pool. On the deck chairs. Fantastic!! One day in our cabin he did a really cute animal. I asked for a blanket. He put it on the chair. Then he did a cute bear over the chair! Another night there was a monkey hanging in the ceiling. This is the best part of Carnival cruises!
