Snowescapee Posted October 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2013 How many people are allowed per cabana at Nellies? We have a group of seven (5 adults, 2 kids) - are we too many? I seriously can't see us renting two. If it comes to it two of us will have to do something else. Arg!
marklodi Posted October 3, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Hi. According to the excursion listing and from what I have read here, it is 6 people max. They will all get wrist bands when you get there, which will allow access to the cabana (though unsure how often they check this) as well as entering the Barefoot Beach area for the upgraded buffet. Rare whitshel Posted October 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2013 The occupancy for cabanas is 6 but we found they really don't check. You will only get 6 wristbands which is really for the upgraded lunch. So 1 person will have to eat at the regular buffet. Like I said I really don't think they care if you have more than 6 especially if it only 7. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Forums mobile app Notice that the latest description for these cabanas has changed the wording for the "up graded buffet". Specifically that it is no longer mentioned and it is now stated that the buffet is available at any of the 3 regular buffet lines. The change occurred in the last couple of days. I called RCI but was unable to reach anyone who knew more about the change other than what was is now being posted. Suggested I send an e-mail and possibly some one would know. If the lack of a less congested buffet is of significance this is merely a heads up. Will post back if I hear anything as the result of my e-mail. WOW We were at Barefoot beach before the Nellies cabanas came to be...........and also after.......... There was always enough room for all. Wonder what happened. I do remember people being in line for the buffet without wrist bands and wondered how they got in. Sea Ya
MEGADAN Posted January 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 1, 2014 I'm assuming that the wristbands were for the now defunct upgraded buffet. We reserved a cabana for our July cruise but haven't decided who in our group will use it. Has anyone had an experience with the 6 max guests? ss_cda Posted January 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Here is something I posted on another Labadee cabana thread yesterday. I think it answers your questions. We were on Oasis last week and rented a cabana at Nellie's Beach. Here is the info you are looking for: 1. Only one person needs to rent the cabana. When you arrive in Labadee give your cabana voucher (you will get it in your stateroom when you board) to the main cabana attendant (at the entrance to the Barefoot Beach). He will then tell you which cabana has been assigned to you at Nellie's Beach and give you six wrist bands that allow cabana access. 2. Walk to where the cabana attendant for the Nellie's Beach cabanas (just in front of the bar behind Nellie's Beach) is and he will then escort you yo your cabana. If you booked the cabana prior to mid October (we did) you will get a cooler filled with ice and four bottles of Evian water and at lunch time the Nellie's Beach cabana attendant will walk you over to the upgraded buffet (grilled shrimp on skewers and grilled steak in addition to burgers, hot dogs, etc). You will also get four floating beach mats. 3. Cabanas have access from both the pathway behind them and the beach or directly from the water. Have all people that exceed your six cabana wrist bands get beach loungers and set them up right in front of your cabana if the beach is right in front of your cabana. Not all cabanas are on the beach. Some are over water and have a ladder to the water. 4. If you tip your cabana attendant when you arrive they don't seem to enforce the maximum six person rule. The cabana next to us had about a dozen people in and out of it throughout the day. Just walk in from the beach or swim in from the water if you are not wearing a wrist band. 5. Labadee is hot. The ceiling fan in the cabana is a nice treat. The cabana also has a plug in it. We found having a cabana was great, albeit somewhat pricey. Nice central place to hang out in and to meet between activities. Hope this helps.
