mjkacmom Posted November 12, 2013 #76 Share Posted November 12, 2013 We did not have this problem on our other 2 ncl cruises, but the kid's club was open all day then. I wonder if this is because they now close down for 2 hour increments twice a day so then people are scrambling to get the kids back so they can go to dinner or a show. We are also on deck 12 in a BA near the aft elevators so I hope we can get out of our room around this time! sent from my Samsung galaxy s3 You will be fine by the aft elevators. We were by the forward elevators, and ran into the mass a lot, but could still get by (it was kind of fun watching parents trying to convince their little ones how much fun it was going to be!). popeyeandolive Posted November 12, 2013 #77 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Does anyone have a really good outside picture of the ship? We are surprising our adult children with a cruise vacation on the Breakaway and I am making a Christmas card. Thank you in advance. Vinegarjoe10 Posted November 12, 2013 #78 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Gizmo911 - Your question about fee's for getting cash on the Breakaway. In the casino, if you present your room card you can get cash and they charge a 3% fee. ( for example, you ask for $100.00 they charge your onboard account $103.00) This is significantly cheaper than a cash advance on a credit card. popeyeandolive Posted November 12, 2013 #79 Share Posted November 12, 2013 I just received three beautiful pictures of The Breakaway from Vinegarjoe10. So I am set. This is what is so wonderful about Cruise Critic. I asked and in 5 minutes, I had exactly what I needed.

comcry Posted November 21, 2013 #87 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Hey fellow cruisers! Firstly, thank you very much for taking the anxiety of cruising on a new ship away! :) I was wondering if I too could get a copy of the picture (Christmas gift) comcry@yahoo.ca When are fireworks? Does anyone know if we can we pre-purchase liqour in our room (how much)? Also, I read about the Ultimate beverage Package costing $396...what exactly does this include? I was also wondering if anyone knows the cost of the pop card? I've only travelled on Carnival. Trying something new. Please do continue the updates, tips tricks and everything inbetween. Thank you! Fireworks are on Friday, I believe. I have read about all these things but can't recall details. Search NCL forum (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=107) for "Breakaway fireworks", "bar set up" (for liquor in room), and the UBP (Ultimate Beverage Package). Be aware: everyone in cabin has to purchase UBP. If there are children, they will have to get soda package. Follow that link, click "search this forum", directly under page numbers of forum, and type in your search terms. Hope this Helps.

Mis94 Posted November 22, 2013 #92 Share Posted November 22, 2013 When are fireworks?! I think fireworks are normally the night you go to GSC (Wednesday?) but since we skipped it due to rough seas on the Nov 10th sailing they were on Friday night. comcry Posted December 6, 2013 #96 Share Posted December 6, 2013 thank you Meatball NYC...I look forward to hearing what you think. :) I also read somewhere that if you book 3 restaurants in advance, you are offered a discounted rate...does anyone know anything about this? If it is true or not. Thx again.
traclr Posted December 7, 2013 #97 Share Posted December 7, 2013 I know on some ships there are Interactive things to do like a cooking class or dance lessons. Does anyone have information on any activities offered?

If it is true or not. Thx again. I was thinking the same thing. Celebrity has a package deal on its specialty restaurants. Purchase 3,4 or 5 nights in them at a discounted rate. Too bad they don't have the Unlimited Specialty Dinning package. We had that on Reflection, that package was awesome :D.
Demonyte Posted December 8, 2013 #99 Share Posted December 8, 2013 I also read somewhere that if you book 3 restaurants in advance, you are offered a discounted rate...does anyone know anything about this? If it is true or not. Thx again. The package is three specific speciality restaurants and the discount is only $8pp total, little over $2pp per restaurant. Also one needs to prepurchase it online before the cruise paying it with CC immediately when making the reservations.
ClaireAndMike Posted December 8, 2013 #100 Share Posted December 8, 2013 Thanks for this awesome thread. I will be on the Breakaway in August for an "extended family" vacation. It will be my 4th NCL cruise and the first on NCL for my relatives. They've cruised before but on Royal Caribbean, Princess and Holland America. I feel that NCL is "my" line, ha. I hope they enjoy it!
