There are a lot of people kids and adults who dress up and plastic toy swords are fine and even on sale in shops.

They also give everyone a pirate bandana you can wear

Many of the children were dressed for pirate night, not as many adults. Here is the bandana that will be left in your cabin.

Some guests will fully dress up in elaborate costumes. Most will do something--a temporary tattoo, a bandana, or whatever. Many will dress casually but not in anything pirate related.

 

Whatever you choose, you will not be out of place.

Thanks for the answers. This was a good time for this question. Many of the party stores locally have a lot of pirate costume and items. If we want to buy anything this would be the best time.

We were only adults and at least 3 of us girls dressed up and the guys all wore the bandanas, so cute and a different way! I'm planning a slightly different pirate attire next spring. Turns out a corset doesn't make for a very pleasant dinner. :) I still have lots of options from my Renaissance Faire trunk...

 

We had lots of people dressed up on ours. I wouldn't hesitate at all. I mean, you are on a ship where lots of guests AND crew dress up like characters. If not now, when?

I have never seen so many pirates in one place! I did see plastic swords on our cruise but I do not know if they brought them on board or purchased them in one of the stores on board. If you do not wish to dress up you do not have too. My hubby worn a pirates of the caribbean shirt that has a huge photo of Johnny Depp on the front. The rest of us dressed up. Don't miss the dance deck party after the fireworks. All the pirates get their grove on and don't be surprised if a disney charcter dances with you!:D
