So, my 9th and 10th cruises (on Carnival) are on Legend, B2B ending before the 31st. (Dec) Will I be recognized as Platinum on the second leg? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks.

Yes (I would, however, confirm your Platinum status with guest services on your first leg)

That happened to my dh. They did not recognize him as Platinum. Fortunately I had a copy of his cruise history which I had printed out from the CCL website. Ended up having to talk to a supervisor but got it all worked out.

Wouldn't hurt to take a copy of your cruise history.

Of course no perks until the 10th cruise.

This is exactly right.

Your cruise history won't be updated until several days after the 1st leg so if you do nothing you would miss out.

I would print out my cruise history which now shows 8 cruises and take it to Guest Services during your 1st week with the cruise docs for your 2nd leg.

I always check in with GS during the 1st week anyway to make sure they have us on the B2B list.

Dulcimergirl, call Carnival and have your cruises "linked". You'll most likely be Platinum when you board the ship on the 9th cruise. You can see this on your cruise documents and your luggage tags.

this happened to me last July. After being escorted off the ship, through customs and back onto the ship, we got our new sail & signs cards from guest services...

they had gold for me... i told them that i was now platinum... she had to go check on that... and sure enough, she came back and gave me my platinum S&S card... got all the platinum perks the 2nd week, loved getting the laundry done...

We've got a B2B coming up at the end of this month for our 9th and 10th cruise and our Cruise Docs say PLATINUM / PRIORITY on both legs. I wasn't planning on the perks until the second leg, but if we get them on the first yea us! :D

Same for us last January 2013. I was very surprised when I checked our cruise docs & luggage tags and saw that we had PRIORITY on our 9th cruise.

We were on Freedom which had not received FTTF so we were not able to go directly to our cabin. However, on our upcoming B2B we will be able to enjoy that additional perk.

Just to follow up, we did get platinum status on both legs of our B2B (9th & 10th cruises) all perks included! And just to let you know, right now the Elation has the best crew I have ever sailed with. We had a blast!

Hmmm... To all those who've said their cruise docs say Platinum on the 1st leg of their B2B, have you got any advice for me? Or any mojo to share? :D I've called Carnival 3X in the past few days, inquiring how to get this, and -- shocking! -- all 3X I got the same answer! No, no, no. It's absolutely not done. You won't be Platinum until you board the 10th cruise.

Well, gee, we're technically not boarding the 10th cruise, because we'll already be on board from our 8th and 9th. We're going on a 3-leg B2B2B, with two 5-day cruises and one 4-day, for a total of 14 days on the Victory. It sure would be nice to have that priority boarding status on the first leg, since we won't need it on the final leg.

Any thoughts? Ideas? Strategies?

It's not the end of the world, or the most important aspect of my cruise, but it would be nice. :D

I didn't do anything special. My PVP linked my bookings and they just showed up as priority. Do you have a PVP? This is one of the reasons I do have one, mine works hard to keep me coming back and just made Platinum with a B2B the same time I was doing mine (different ships though). So I guess my only strategy would be to get a good PVP.

Sorry, I know that's not much help but it's the best I can do.

Thanks waynbo.

I had a good PVP, but he left Carnival, so I've been working with someone new on this cruise. And whenever I call, his line is busy so it rolls over to someone else. Maybe I'll try his email...

Thanks.

We actually did this & they did recognize our Platinum status on the second leg of our B2B cruise. We did have to go to the front desk to have new cards printed (because they still gave us gold cards) once we reboarded the ship but we did get all of the Platinum perks.

Your status remains Gold on the web site but if you are on a 9/10 B2B, your 9th boarding documents should say Priority. I don't think it stretches for those on a B2B2B.

Ha! Good word. Yes, I agree that an 8-9-10 B2B2B is probably stretching it, to ask for Priority status on #8... But worth a try.

You know, even my 10th boarding docs don't say Priority.

Yes, but I'm asking for it on the first leg.

Can you only link b2b cruises if they are on the same ship? My family have b2b cruises starting on January 4 on the Breeze then on 1/12 we board the Glory, we hit platinum on the Glory

If you'll have 75 days while on your Glory cruise, then you will indeed become Platinum but I don't believe Carnival recognizes "b2b cruises" on two different ships.. BUT... definitely print and carry a copy of your past cruises from Carnival website showing that you will have 75 days anytime after 1/12th.. There is a good chance that the ship will not recognize that as it takes a couple of days and you're not going to have that !!!
