steveru621 Posted October 25, 2013 #26 Share Posted October 25, 2013 That's good news. We had a choice of unlimited or single use packages. Meaning if you signed up for 24 hours it had to be consecutively and would expire 24 hours from the time you signed on even if you were sleeping. reedl Posted October 26, 2013 Author #27 Share Posted October 26, 2013 The 24 hour package is just that, good for 24 hours. The 60 minute package is a traditional 60 minute package that can be used in 1 minute increments. It is great for those who want to sync their phones or laptops with email and quickly disconnect. Also as an FYI, there was a 15 contiguous minute package in Cozumel, Mexico that was $4.95 I think. This is to compete with the people who get off the ship to use the myriad of WiFi access points on the shore. But as has been said before, the internet is very slow! reedl Posted October 29, 2013 Author #29 Share Posted October 29, 2013 AT&T service worked quite well for the few calls that we made and received. I would guess that Verizon is also just as good since they only need to supply service to a very small ship. Keep in mind though that the data speeds over cellular will be VERY slow and VERY expensive. You do not want to use the cellular data.
CleveRocks Posted October 29, 2013 #30 Share Posted October 29, 2013 The only reason I'd even consider buying the unlimited data package is so that my son can watch things on Netflix during downtimes. Am I hearing correctly that the connection will be too slow for him to watch TV shows streaming on Netflix??? Because if that's the case I'll have an unhappy 13 year old but I'll have $179 less I'll owe American Express next month. THANKS in advance!
