bitsey66 Posted October 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2013 This is our stateroom...does anyone have any reviews or opinions about it? We were "upgraded", which I'm not sure what the upgrade was, other than we are now mid ship vs aft, same deck, which I'm hoping is better for my husbands back. This is his first cruise and my 2nd (1st on Princess). Seems everyone likes middle decks better? Also, how is the balcony for this room?

R512 is below the Calypso pool deck area, on the port side, there might be noise from moving deck chairs in the early morning or late evening, we usually like to book a deck that has cabins above and below it - less chance of noise, (Caribe is our favorite, bigger balconies, sometimes same price as Aloha or Baja)
RNGALNG Posted October 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2013 We have had rooms just below the pool and if you are a heavy sleeper, you will be fine. If a light sleeper, bring earplugs or your earbuds and iPod! DH slept well in the room and I could swear they were holding grand piano races every night! They move the deck furniture every night to scrub the deck! Yes, midship is the smoothest part of the ship to be housed. You will not feel the rocking as much as if forward or aft. Enjoy your cruise! bitsey66 Posted October 25, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted October 25, 2013 Thank you for your replies. I have plenty of earplugs :) Sometimes we sleep heavy, sometimes we don't
aquilegia Posted October 26, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2013 You have answered your own question re what constitutes the upgrade. Midship is generally considered more desirable than aft.
bitsey66 Posted September 29, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted September 29, 2014 We LOVED our cabin R512. It was perfect for us in just about every way! So much so, we booked the same cabin on Crown's sister ship Ruby, leaving in 48 days for the Eastern Carribean! :D
