Ketchikan Rain Forest and Wildlife Sanctuary

I've been looking at a shore excursion in Ketchikan, Rain Forest and Wildlife Sanctuary, and I need help before booking it. It is a walk through the rain forest to an elevated wooden boardwalk overlooking Eagle Creek. It says during spawning season the salmon attract bears, eagles, seals and other wildlife. It sounds like you might not see anything at other times and wouldn't be worth it. Has anyone taken this tour who could comment on it? And when is spawning season? We'd be going in September.

WHEN is Sept??? If bears are a priority- this isn't the tour. Look back at bearbait's posts. Concise accurate information.

If going the first week, consider a fly in out of Ketchikan, superior with good chance at viewing. The tours are usually over the 2nd week.
