What to do before 7 pm flight from HOU

Haven't seen this discussed on this board. We arrive back into Galveston on the Navigator. Our flight home from HOU isn't until 7 pm. Any suggestions on how to spend the day, what to do with our luggage, and how then to get to the airport? Originally we planned on a taxi or car service of some type directly from the ship to the airport, but that's a whole lot of sitting around an airport.
