bbevanston Posted October 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2013 How is the water? Rocky? Do we need to wear water shoes? Have 7/9 YO with us. Will have to buy this week if needed. Suggestions? Which is a good beach to take the kids? Thanks.
Langley Cruisers Posted October 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2013 How is the water? Rocky? Do we need to wear water shoes? Yes, take them. I wish we had done so.
bbevanston Posted October 29, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted October 29, 2013 ordering tonight from Zappos. Will hit Payless this weekend if I can. They are 1/2 the price and I'm sure the kids will only fit them for one year anyway and probably not by next summer. Thanks again. Should have thought of this a few weeks back. WetToes Posted October 31, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2013 We've been to Labadee a few times, never used or needed shoes. Different beaches I guess.
CaribbeanCrush Posted November 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2013 One side of Ladadee is rocky, but the side where the swimming and sunbathing is sandy. No need for water socks.
CleveRocks Posted November 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 10, 2013 We were in and out of the water at Nellie's Beach and I found no need to wear shoes on the beach or in the water. But there are some people who always prefer water shoes anyway. I live at the beach (in New Jersey) and I'm always barefoot in the water, but there are some who wear shoes. bbevanston Posted November 17, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted November 17, 2013 Just got back from cruise this afternoon. The closest beach is rocky. We stayed 5 mins and went across the street just pass the kids' water play area and it is a nice beach. water very calm. We stayed there. No water shoes needed which is good since I bought new ones for the kids and forgot them in the cabin. Will return to the store this week. you can take the free tram to the other beach. It was sooooooo hot this past Monday (94 degrees), the sun was hot hot hot. Tram was a good thing. The food area was just down the road also. Basic BBQ food.
