Long Review: 9/9/13 - Reflection 11 Day Eastern Med plus Rome

Lunch was ridiculous....we had saganaki and calamari and tatziki with pita followed by greek salad and ceasar salad and then souvlaki. We were so full it was crazy. Then it was time for dessert; Ken had chocolate cake with a fudge ganache and I had a fruit plate which was literally about 8 pieces of whole fruit cut up - it was way too much food.

At 4pm we begrudgingly left for the ship where we both promptly took a nap! The sun was intense and both of us were a bit pink.

Our dinner on the ship was at 8:30 and we decided to hit the casino on our way. I was playing the Sex and The City machine and I got the Mr.Big bonus and won the jackpot of $1600 so that was exciting. They do it old school - make you sit and wait and then come pay you in the palm of your hand with crisp $100 bills - such a great feeling.

We then had dinner next to a foursome from Saskatoon who said there are 600 Canadians on the ship.

After dinner we went straight to the room to go to bed as next was Athens - our earliest day yet.

My cold or runny nose is fine now - Ken still has his cough and is starting to sound congested. Hopefully he is 100% soon.

I am so glad you're enjoying this review. It's funny you should ask about a blog as I don't currently have one but one of my staff just asked when she would get to see pictures from our dining experiences in Vegas this weekend and she suggested a blog as well.

Up until now we have only used a Shutterfly Share Site for family/friends on our two trips to Europe. We end up with a pretty good following and we love having it as a diary of sorts. So I think after this review I will look at setting up a blog to chronicle our trips, dining experiences, cooking (we both love to cook), golf trips etc. At least then it will be all in one place.

I doubt we'll have many followers aside from family/friends but that's certainly not why we'd do it.

Thanks for sharing your review. I am especialy loving your3 food pics. I am interested in reading any reviews you may have of Vegas. Where will you post this?

Thank you for posting. The review is terrific. We are taking a similar, but not identical, cruise next summer and you have given me some ideas for additional things to see and ways to see them. Thank you for that.

I agree with you about the market in Istanbul. DH and DS loved it, but it made me very uncomfortable. It is unfortunate that you missed the Blue Mosque. It is beautiful. However, it gives you a good reason to return.

I look forward to the rest of the review.

You are killing me with the food pictures! I only took one food picture during the cruise, a picture of a beautiful Greek salad I had in Athens. This was a mistake and I will do better next time. Food pictures are yummy!

Thanks so much for posting, my parents are taking a similar Celebrity trip next spring and I sadly cannot go so thanks for feeding my pre-trip excitement for them ;)

I also would LOVE to see some Vegas reviews! We are headed there for the second time next spring.

I really don't post any reviews of Vegas as I think this was my 17 or 18th time there. Any reviews I would write would be for a restaurant or maybe a show. We really go now just for the food, gambling and shows.

Once I get this review finished and can get our new blog going I could share what I have learned about Vegas over the years, the highlights and must see lists. Not sure how long it will take but I would be happy to share.

We are doing same cruise in June. Looking forward to hearing about Athens and

Naples. Hope you continue.........

Can a 6ft 4 inch man rent a tux on board? Cost?

If you go to the Celebrity site and search under the "already booked" tab you will see the "gifts by Celebrity" section. There you will see the "tux rental" section which has all the packages and options available. Ken got one tux with an extra shirt but you can even have two jackets - whatever your need is. I don't think 6' 4" would be an issue.

Hope that helps!

PS - I hope to get to Athens soon - life has been hectic this past week.

Thanks. We've been to Vegas several times as well. I was more interested in your food and restaurant reviews as it appears as though you have a love for great food as do I.:)

Ahhhh we do love our food! ;)

I will be posting reviews for Roy's, Lavo, Javier's, House of Blues, Border Grill and Ruth's Chris at some point - they will be on Open Table and likely Trip Advisor. I can let you know when I get that done.

Thanks for sharing your cruise with us. :)

p.s. can't believe no resolve @ your missing luggage. It's scary that Celebrity has not done right by you. They are totally responsible for your troubles. i hope someone higher comes to your aid. Mean while I truly admire your patience!
