I was thinking baout renting a car and travelling to EPCOT.

What time did you realy dock , and what time were you able to depart?

Do you know if there is a car rental place at the pier? if so which one

When we were on the Epic our family went to Harry Potter (the week that it opened). We booked the ship transfer and it worked nicely. We did the entire Harry Potter world and much more and were on the buss back to the ship. Didn't have to worry about renting a car and not getting lost.

I was told by kids crew it was 1,200 on this sailing. The line to check in on the first day stretched down two floors. My 12 years old said it was the worse kids club she ever been and it her 7 th.
The OP was on the Breakaway the week before you.

OP, glad to hear you enjoyed the Breakaway. I agree with you about those inside cabins....we saw them passing thru the hallways and couldn't believe the size. I'm not sure how two people can survive in that let alone three or four. They are definitely the smallest insides we have ever seen.

Hi there. Let's start with the kids club. My kids love it! We have never been on a ship that they have not thoroughly loved the staff. And because we cruise frequently with them they ask about their favorites on each cruise. I would try to engage the staff on the first day. Finchy and Eggo are very visible and friendly. And my kids loved spider pig. I think the staff really do a fantastic job.

I would guess that you will have upwards of 500 kids on your sailing. I spoke for a long time to the crew and they said that is about the fewest they ever have on any given week. So, I would expect a lot of kids. And, I would "sell" this as a positive. With so many kids making friends will be easy.

The circus training is very fun. And survivor night is my kids favorite. Late night (which we have never done on any other ship) was a highlight. they also liked the face painting. The giant light up dance floor is very fun too.

My advice is to take them as soon as you can in the afternoon of your first day. And absolutely take them on the first night.

Ok, for CAS this ship is great for many many things. The casino isnt necessarily one of them. The CAS staff is less friendly than we've had on other ships. I'm sure it's a product of being so big. It's the trade off for the big ship. Perks? Not many. But, we did have a good time.

In port Canaveral. We went to coco beach. I think the cab ride was about $15. We had great weather, so a beautiful day. The current there is strong, so if your kids are not strong swimmers, I would keep them close to shore. In Nassau, we went to Junkanoo Beach. It was fine for a very uncomplicated day. We walked to and from the beach. It's about 10 minutes from where you dock. It's not the best beach, but then again the beach at Atlantis wasn't my favorite either. We just wanted a low key day and this delivered perfectly. We bought some basic sand toys in Walgreens in coco beach. And we found some local kids to leave them with when we were leaving Nassau. My kids enjoyed that.

I hope I have helped. I'm sure you will have a great time. Remember that you deserve some alone time with your hubby too. The kids crew will help! Just get to know them. If your kids are shy or nervous just let them know and they will help with the transition. 1 good night at the kids club and they won't want to leave. Good luck!

Thank you so much for answering my questions! We will definitely have them go the first night, even if it's for a little bit. Thanks for the tips regarding the staff, will engage them for sure.

I'm actually staying on the 12th deck, hopefully it won't be to bad with the lines checking in :(

We did Junkanoo last time, I think we are going to try the beach day at Blue Lagoon Island. Just hoping the water will be warm enough for us to get in.

Really hoping that GSC won't get skipped, really looking forward to going there.

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks so much for your review. I am taking a 2 night getaway from NYC in January with my friend for a girls getaway weekend!!!! We booked a spa stateroom and plan to take full advantage of that spa......I'm trying to find out what is open or to do once we board? Like before our room is ready? Our plan was to eat somewhere and go straight to the spa........is that an option??

Was the boat rocking? I'd like to take the Breakaway in December but I'm nervous about my daughter who gets sea-sick very easy.

We were on the Breakaway during a tropical storm & we were delayed getting into Bermuda because of it and didn't even notice any motion. I have a friend who gets very seasick and she recommends taking Bonine the day before and every night while on board. She's tried everything and that's the only thing that works for her. My oldest son has always been prone to motion sickness and he takes it the first night and that's usually all he needs. I've taken ginger capsules the odd time I feel a little queasy and that's enough for me.

Thanks for the review, funredhead. We used to do inside cabins with our kids until they got too big. I didn't notice the size of the inside cabins on this ship but stayed in them on the Epic and it was pretty small.

I loved the ropes course although was scary for someone afraid of heights like I am. I can't believe I walked the plank although there was no turning around and walking back for me. I very carefully backed off the plank while my dh turned around easily with one hand on the harness (I had it in a death grip with both hands, lol).

My husband and I have sailed NCL 8 times and have avoided the "super" ships because of the number of passengers. You mentioned that the entertainment was good - was it difficult to get into the shows and other entertainment venues every night? On sea days, were you able to find some quiet deck places to read or just relax? Thanks.
