Travelers checks

I use my credit card for my S&S account, but I do cash my travelers checks at guest services for my cash, that way I don't need to take a lot of cash on my cruise.

Do they cash them at the full amount (face value) or do they deduct a fee?

No fees to use em. There is some daily limit to cashing them, maybe $1500 but I don't exactly remember. I don't know if that limit applies to you using them to pay off you S&S at the end of the cruise. I would guess at worst you could apply them to your account as you accrue charges throughout the cruise.

From Carnival.com:

Can Traveler's Checks be cashed on board?

Traveler's Checks can be cashed on board at the Guest Services Desk. Since Traveler's Checks are considered as cash, there is no fee for this check cashing service, but there is a $1,000 USD per day limit, to the dollar amount cashed.

Canadian Traveler's Checks can be cashed on board at the Guest Services Desk at the current exchange rate.

We do not accept bank issued cashier's checks or money orders on board.
