kcwingwalker Posted November 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2013 Does the Dawn have a bottled water package? Is bottled water included in the soda package? Which brand do they use? NCL does not have a water package. You can bring on your own water, buy water onboard and in port. The water onboard is surprising good.
shelly11 Posted November 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) Bring your own....it's very expensive on board. I think it's was 5 large bottles for $25. You could bring 2 or 3 cases for that price. Edited November 6, 2013 by shelly11

DaisyGoldberg Posted November 7, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 7, 2013 On the Dawn last month they were set up in the pool area after boarding -- right next to the guy selling the refillable mugs. They make out a slip, you sign it, and they deliver later that day. They're fairly large bottles (they'll have them on display). Larger than I'd want to be carrying around the ship, so if you're somebody who always wants one in your hand, you might prefer bringing them from home. The ship's water is fine and I always drank it in restaurants and the buffet. But in the room I liked being able to pour myself a nice tall glass of water (I always bring a large glass from home)
gaylemh Posted November 7, 2013 Author #11 Share Posted November 7, 2013 You do realize the ship's water is probably more pure than any bottled water, right? ;) I agree about the ships water being pure, but after a bad experience on Explorer I wonder about the plumbing the water goes through. The last time I was on Explorer, I was having trouble getting cold water. It was very hot. I called maintenance and they came and said the aerator was blocked. When they changed the aerator, I couldn't believe what I saw, the water that came out was dark brown for about 20-40 seconds. It was really gross. It was fine after it cleared out, but I was glad it was too hot to brush my teeth the first night, and I used the bottled water I brought. This was my 5th time on Explorer, and after that I would never drink water from the bathroom faucet on a ship again. I'm sure it was probably an isolated incident, but probably happens on all ships at some time.
