Passion Island

Booked on our 11th cruise. We have been to Passion Island and loved it, but on our last Royal Caribbean cruise this excursion was not offered and no one on the ship's excursion desk could offer why. Is Passion Island an option as an excursion? It makes me a bit nervous to go there as a privately tour.

We went there once with RCCL,and I checked our next booking, and it is not offered either. From being in Cozumel many times, I would not hesitate to book it independently. It is probably less expensive as well...Go to Cozumel Water Sports dot com..

Carnival still has it as an excursion. We did the one where you take the Twister boat out. I did check on doing it independently but the website stated that cruise passengers have to do it thru the ship. I guess you don't have to tell them that you are coming in on a ship. Anyway, it was a great excursion but the staff does go overboard with the sob stories in order to solicit tips. It would be my only mark against it.

We are in the same situation. We also love Passion Island and are trying to figure out how to get there. Found a tour company called This is Cozumel, but it seems you have to find your own way to the ferry and they basically just sell you the tickets to get on the island. I even called Royal Caribbean and they couldn't really give me an answer as to why they don't offer the excursion anymore. I would really love a boat from the pier to the island, but can't find any.

The tour includes:

Round Transportation.by taxi, from the meeting point to Bahia Ciega (30 min.), and then on a boat to the island (10 min). Spend 3 ½ hrs. in the Island. The tour duration is 5 hrs including the time of transportation.

Water Activities. You'll be able to use: Kayak, Pedal Boats, and Water Trampolines,

Facilities. All the services available as: Restaurant, Showers, Bathroom, Palapas, Umbrellas, Bunks, Hammocks, Playground for children,

I just checked out the web site at Cozumel water sports and saw the Passion Island excursion through them. It appears only Carnival Cruise Lines offer this as a ship's excursion. I will contact them, as I need more information on their transportation to the island.

We were going to book through them for the price but decided to take the Carnival excursion with the cat from the cruise dock. First port for us and that sounded like a nicer option.
