marshhawk Posted November 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2013 I know I said I wanted to take Megabus, and we probably will, but two of the 6 said they wanted to drive, where would you park in NOLA during your cruise? Is there parking at the port? and how much is it?
thescot123 Posted November 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) I know I said I wanted to take Megabus, and we probably will, but two of the 6 said they wanted to drive, where would you park in NOLA during your cruise? Is there parking at the port? and how much is it? The parking at the cruise terminal is $16 per day. Carnival uses a covered parking garage at Julie Street which is right next to the ship. NCL shares an open parking lot called the "Whale Lot" with RCL. It is open so you can get wet if it is raining. I use Machu Picchu tours who has space for 24 cars in his warehouse about 3 blocks away from the port. You car is secured in a covered warehouse. Angel the owner, is wonderful and great to talk to. They take you to/from the port via a free van. It saves you the stress of dealing with the traffic at the terminal. He charges $14 per day. http://machupicchutours.com/cruise-ship-parking/ Enjoy. dsotm73 Posted November 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) Personally I don't see what's wrong with parking at the port. You drop your luggage off at the entrance to parking and don't have to handle it again, don't have to worry about loading luggage and yourself into shuttles, and your car is waiting there when you return. You're on the road within minutes of debarkation, and I've never encountered traffic at the port. But, to each his own.
