eruss Posted November 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2013 Has anyone paid the $22 to participate in the cupcake decorating class? Realizing that everything is a bit overpriced, was it worth it?
ragtop1958 Posted November 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2013 We did last year on the Allure. I had never done any decorating, so I thought it was fun. The cupcake shop is on the promenade level , so we had lots of observers. You only make one cupcake for the $22, so you could always watch a class before you sign up to see if it would be worth it to you. We had a ball and took pictures of all of our "dogs". dacsmom Posted November 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2013 I did it on the FOS in Feb and it was a lot of fun. We made the cheeseburger and fries. It is something I would have never done at home and I thought it was worth it. In the grand scheme of things $22 is a fair price for the experience. Be sure to sign up early, the classes fill up fast.
1234icruise44 Posted November 11, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2013 I was sailing on OTS the first year of her sailing. OTS would give you an apron and the cupcake. But by the time I sailed they had discontinued that practice. I did find this out until after the ship had sailed. I cancelled the class and got a refund. I didn't think it was a good idea to pay $22. for a $4. cupcake. :o

Realizing that everything is a bit overpriced, was it worth it? I sure did! I'm sure it will be worth it, spending quality icing time with my DD! :p
Rare Familygoboston Posted November 11, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 11, 2013 We did this on Allure, it was fun, certainly not worth $22 a cup cake, but we enjoyed the experience and that was worth the price; to sit with my teens and make cupcakes for a 1/2 hour! No one ate their cupcake and we brought them wrapped back to the cabin. So on debarkation day I ended up throwing one away and one of the teens ate the other 2 for breakfast
