Not being a drinker, I'm not sure the difference. We really love the frozen blender non-alcoholic drinks like virgin pina coladas and strawberry daquaris, etc. But, these are all blended with ice, so.. a "Frozen cocktail" (right??)

The Royal Replenish Package

$20 per guest / per day. Includes:

Premium Coffee

Premium Tea

Bottled Water: Sparkling (375ml) Still (500ml)

Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice

Non-Alcoholic Cocktails

Fountain Soda with souvenir cup

The Premium Package

$55 per guest / per day. Includes:

House and premium spirits/cocktails (up to $10 value in North America, $12 on international cruises)

Frozen Cocktails

Beer (Excluding Foster's Oil Cans and speciality beers)

Premium wines by the glass (up to $12 value in North America, $14 on international cruises)

Non-alcoholic cocktails

Still Bottled Water (500ml)

Fountain Soda with souvenir cup

20% discount on bottles of wine

but, non-alcoholic cocktails: I am not sure if that covers non-alcoholic frozen drinks.

For $20/day/person, I would buy the "Refresher" package if it included them, but not the $55 for the package which shows the frozen cocktails.

Can anyone clarify?

On Celebrity I had the equivalent of the Royal replenish package and it included frozen non-alcoholic drinks, I would assume the same would go on Royal. It would be crazy for them not too IMO

Does anyone know if the changes to the beverages packages have also increased the cruise lenghts that it is available on? Currently, I believe it can only be purchased on 4-day and longer.

We are doing 3-day Enchantment in May, and wondering if the beverages pkgs will be available to purchase?

Thanks for this great info....

I'm interested in this also. We are also doing a 3 day on the Enchantment in Feb.

I have heard that a new drink package is coming out after 11-16. I have also heard the NA package is getting some modifications. I am wondering about this and wondered if it is true is it available on the Freedom Class ships? Thank you!

The info here seems to answers most of the questions;

one of them confirms you only have to pay the difference over and above the cap limits.

And another confirms that the normal soda package will still be available and is unaffected by these changes

Great info! This is probably a dumb follow up question, but is a TA (from Southampton to Florida) considered "International"? I assume it is, but assumptions get me in trouble!

Thanks

We don't know yet. The poster stated these are the new packages. Doesn't mean they did away with the soda package. We should find out tomorrow.

I thought I read first on the post that below replaces previous packages. When I called and asked all about the new packages. That was the one question she could not answer for sure... If they would keep just the soda package We shall see soon. Have a great day

Does anyone know what "premium tea" refers to? We will be on Adventure of the Seas. Where does one get "premium tea" on AOS? I'm asking b/c my dh loves iced tea. I think he has had the regular iced tea and been okay with it, but he may like this package since it includes so many other things he enjoys. He doesn't drink alcohol.

Is there a Starbucks like coffee shop on AOS that serves iced tea? We were actually on AOS last year but I didn't notice any, but I couldn't drink coffee then. Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Check out the pdf in post #204

Q. Are you still offering the already existing beverage packages?

A. We will continue to offer the Soda Fountain package now renamed Royal Refreshment, plus the bottled water and juice packages and Wine & Dine.

I should have read further, in the FAQ on post #204 it specifies that the higher limits apply based on the departure port.

Does anyone know if VAT is charged on Transatlantic cruises originating in Barcelona against the full beverage package purchase price if bought onboard vs online?

No Spanish VAT will be charged on a transatlantic cruise

Thanks for the info! This confirms that all RCL ships will have the new packages as of mid December ie including Australia!! And we can buy online from mid December. And only buy the package for an individual in the cabin ie the wife can have the premium package and hubby can have he refresh package.

I kind of like the new changes to the policy. I hope that you just have to pay the difference for drinks over $10 (IE - Top Shelf Martini is $10.25, hopefully just have to pay the .25 extra). Also if they allow only one person to have the package in a stateroom then I will be phoning up royal in the next little while to get a couple names changed on our Allure reservation.

I know its not 100% sure quite yet, but if these are the new changes then kudos to Royal for changing the package. It was a bit too stringent in rules, and a bit stingy for the cost previously.

Well not all Kudos...........................Correct me please if I am wrong .... but I don't see anywhere that the previous $55 package had a cocktail maximum price of $10. If so this new revised plan is also a take away.......I do not want to have to go around paying a silly 25 to 75 cents extra for a drink over $10... the whole point in getting the package is to control costs and relax wih out constant paying.

I just read through the 11 pages of posts and YES, the original soda package of $6.50/day is still going to be available and is unaffected by these changed.

Posts are one thing, but as of my last phone call to crown and anchor, this question is still not clear. Would be nice to have an "official" answer. I'm sure we will know soon.

Just reporting back what I was told. I did specifically ask about the packages being released on 11/15/13 and that's the info I received. I'm certainly not trying to sway people one way or another. I just simply stated what was told and my reasoning for not thinking it's a good option for me. Hopefully, things will be cleared up soon.

Check post #204 and download the pdf. You will get the answer there. It has the policy in writing.

The new name is Royal Refreshment

I did that, and that's what prompted my call. I was told that they are actually considering the wording of that file and that from what they were told, the original 6.50 a day soda package was still going to be offered. They also said that right now it looks like a grey area that will be corrected, but it is entirely possible that they will abide by what has been written there. Was told to hand tight while it was sorted out.

I've learned to just not call in and ask questions. Too often the person on the phone is either giving their own version or were misinformed.

Time will tell.

Yes, most times you are correct. It's why I started calling the C & A dept. they seem to be a little more informed and correct. Having said that, we agree, time will tell.
