lisaland15 Posted November 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2013 I have 3 OBCs for my next cruise--$50 from a future cruise credit certificate, a $60 price reduction OBC, and $400 OBC from the Carnival Mastercard. Say I end up with some amount left over, will they issue a refund check or will I lose it? Thanks!
Rare shof515 Posted November 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2013 It depends on if the OBC is refundable or not. Future cruise and price drops might be refundable whereas the mastercard may not be. You will have to talk to guest services on board.

If its refundable you should have a check in your mailbox the morning of departure, your room steward will bring it up early AM.
S.S.Oceanlover Posted November 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2013 If its refundable you should have a check in your mailbox the morning of departure, your room steward will bring it up early AM. Lately people are reporting that CCL is no longer doing that and they are mailing them within about 10 days after the cruise. There have also been reports of CCL no longer leaving your final bill either. Bill
DGP1111 Posted November 13, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2013 If its refundable you should have a check in your mailbox the morning of departure . . . Lately people are reporting that CCL is no longer doing that and they are mailing them within about 10 days after the cruise. Correct. No more checks delivered morning of debarkation. . girlscruise2011 Posted November 13, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2013 I usually go down to Guest Services on the last night and close out my account and get cash. At that point, I'm not drinking or gambling anymore so don't need any money. From what I remember, the OBC from the FCC is non refundable. OBCs from price drops are refundable. I'm not sure about the OBC from the credit card since I don't have one but I would think they are probably non refundable. Good news is they usually use the non refundable OBCs first. If you gamble, you can withdraw from them in the casino on the slot machines. Others have downloaded OBC, took a few spins and then cashed out but some are saying they are catching on to that too and keeping that to a limit. Maybe you can use the OBC by taking a Ship Sponsored Excursion or buying more gifts in the ships store. Maybe playing bingo or a few extra drinks at night. Anything is better then giving the OBC back to Carnival. Good Luck

CarnieAddict Posted November 13, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 13, 2013 Can't you cash it out at the casino?
SkyMaster Posted November 13, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 13, 2013 I too, always cash out on the evening before debarkation. Just go to the pursers desk and see what the amount is that you can receive. If you're gonna LOSE a big chunk of money, this gives you a chance to either spend it, or go to the casino and get it. (If you know what I mean.) Either way, having the cash in your hand beats the hell out of waiting for a check to arrive in the mail. "SKY"
lisaland15 Posted November 13, 2013 Author #10 Share Posted November 13, 2013 Thanks everyone! We plan on doing the Cheers Program, so I don't think we'll have anything left over, but just in case we did...
girlscruise2011 Posted November 14, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 14, 2013 Can't you cash it out at the casino? At the Casino you cash out your Casino bank. That's totally different. Even though you can download money from your Sign & Sail, it goes into your Casino account. You have to make sure you cash that out the last night. If not, they will mail you a check but it takes a few months for you to get it. I swore I cashed mine out in November on the Liberty but in May right before my Victory cruise I got a $20 check from them in the mail. I didn't question it. I just cashed it and brought it with me when I sailed.
