flyboyswife Posted November 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) Just read this: Queen beds are raised so that you can stow your luggage underneath, but they can't be split, posing a problem if you'd prefer to have two singles instead of one queen. My mom and my mother-in-law sharing room...will they not each get their own bed? Edited November 14, 2013 by flyboyswife
Shmoo here Posted November 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2013 Just read this: Queen beds are raised so that you can stow your luggage underneath, but they can't be split, posing a problem if you'd prefer to have two singles instead of one queen. My mom and my mother-in-law sharing room...will they not each get their own bed? On all the ships (except for the Wonder), the queen bed is a full queen bed, not able to separate into twin beds (as on other lines). I don't know what kind of room you have, but, typically, the beds in a room are the queen (2 person), sofa bed (1 person), and (in rooms that sleep 4), either a pull down bunk (1 person) or a murphy bed (1 person). On the Wonder the queen bed still separates into twins.
moki'smommy Posted November 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2013 Only the Wonder has the large bed that can be split into 2 narrower beds. As above, on the other ships, ALL rooms have the big bed (sleeps 2) and the flip couch (sleeps 1). Most rooms have an additional bed for a 4th person which either drops down from the ceiling (most) or a wall. And then there are the "family" rooms that sleep 5. The problem comes with 3 adults who each want their own bed. This means they need a 4 person room, and this is sometimes hard to communicate to DCL with a "do not move us" instruction when that isn't really what you mean.
