irish9 Posted November 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2013 We leave Sunday on The Pearl, we are traveling with a group of 9 people, 42 days ago we tried to make restaurant reservations in Cagneys and Tepynaki (I think that's the name) for our party. Online reservations thru NCL would only accept a party of 8. Called NCL and they told me I had to contact group reservations, did that, a week went by (I called and emailed everyday) and was told they were working on it. During this wee of time, another member of our group called NCL, they took our reservation over the phone. So I look the other day and see on our booking online, it only shows the reservation for dinner based on each family, not as a group. So the member of our group calls NCL yesterday to confirm we were booked as a party of nine and they told her no, they can't guarantee, they might be able to push tables together but they are separate reservations. Can anyone help us? We are celebrating 2 birthdays on this trip and want to be together not at separate tables in the dining room.
Demonyte Posted November 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2013 You need to handle Cagney's onboard, surely they can push tables together to make a long one for you. Just go talk to the Maitre D' earlier (day before or at lunch when they are serving lunch for suite passengers) to give them time to arrange tables. Teppanyaki is a different story, depending on how many kids there are in your group, you might not be able to sit on one station as you can only comfortably fit 8 adults around one station so unless you want to be very tight there, you might have to split your group up to two stations. They are built right next to each other (there are two islands of two stations and the seatings are scheduled so that only the adjoining two stations (max total of 16 pax) are seated at the same time) but the chefs are working in the middle of the island and the pace might not be exactly the same. We traveled with a party of 11 a few years ago: twice we ate at specialty dining rooms with the entire group and had no problems. I will add, it was the Asian restaurant and the Italian, not Cagney's. On the same cruise we ate a couples of nights together in the main dining room: one time we were separated, but right next to each other; the other time, they were able to move tables and got us together. I don't think it is a really big deal. When you get on the ship, see what can be done.

Thank you for your input, that makes sense about the Japanese steak house. I will definitely see the Maitre'D when we get on board.
