IPlayWithString Posted December 8, 2013 #51 Share Posted December 8, 2013 We were on the Triumph back in August and aside from problems with our steward (never had any ice in our bucket, didn't even see the guy till the last night of the cruise), we didn't have any issues. Rudyard Posted December 8, 2013 #53 Share Posted December 8, 2013 To all the people who complain about stupid things, shut up. The ship was great. The staff was really attentive. I enjoyed the 2.0 upgrades. And we didn't notice any major issues that would make me feel like I wouldn't want to be on the triumph. Any issues that came up were so minuscule to not even warrant bringing them up here or in a review. I will be posting my review when we get home, now to get out of this horrible mess of a ice storm that hit dallas. Let me be the first to say... Blah, blah blah, OPINION, blah, blah. blah, cruise CRITIC, blah, blah, blah, 1st AMENDMENT. Figured I'd save the usual cast of characters the trouble ;) I'd sail Triumph again in a heartbeat. Our complaint is that we feel that Carnival missed the mark when upgrading the ship. They focused on the big things and overlooked the small things. We feel that Carnival could have & should have done more with the upgrades..that is all.
IPlayWithString Posted December 9, 2013 #55 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Agreed. I'm really hoping when we sail either her or the Magic this summer that we get a better room steward than we did back in August. We never even saw the guy and I only ran into him by accident the last night of the cruise when I ran back to the room to grab a shawl for my shoulders because I was cold. postalgrrl Posted December 10, 2013 #57 Share Posted December 10, 2013 What should they have done? We noticed a few things where we think they missed the mark. 1. The upholstry on the promenade across from the casino was worn out and old. They shoukd have replaced it. 2. We had an old TV in our cabin that did not work very well. I have heard that they are upgrading these as they break. They should have just replaced all of them during the dry dock. These are the 2 things that stand out in my mind. They did not ruin our cruise, we still had a great time and enjoyed the Triumph. I just think Carnival dropped the ball on the upgrades. They fixed the big things but missed on the small details.
