Has anyone stayed here the night before catching the 6:45am train to Seward?

How far is the cab ride to the train depot, and do you remember the cost?

Were there any dining options nearby?

It's 3 miles from the Embassy Suites to the train depot. There is a restaurant on site that, the last time I ate there, was pretty good, and several nearby, including the Moose's Tooth. Go to mapquest, find Embassy Suites, and then click on the restaurant button at the top of the map...you will see that within a couple of blocks, there are too many places to eat to list here.

Looking at the rates on the Yellow Cab site, cab fare should be less than $20.

2nd recommendation for the Moose's Tooth. There simply isn't anything that can beat that!

They are also building a Marriott property directly across the street from Embassy Suites. A little more competition could be good for rates.

 

Mooses Tooth is good but plan on a hefty wait if you go for dinner. No reservations.
