Hope all are enjoying this weekend before Thanksgiving!

 

I have a question I could have sworn I've seen addressed here before, but I could not find it in a search.

 

I have a friend who wants to go to Puerto Rico for a week, then come back to NYC via cruise ship that would be heading back to NY.

 

So I guess my question is: can you join a cruise in the middle of a trip? I kind of thought it was not possible but I wasn't sure.

Answer is -- Maybe.

 

Need to ask the cruiseline if this can be done. Some itins won't work because of the PVSA.

 

Also would have to pay for the whole cruise, not just the portion sailed.

I have seen a couple of threads years ago on this. There was a temp at my job who said that they were cruising royal in March, getting off in Jamaica for a week and then getting back on the same ship and coming home. I am sure someone here knows the rules and regulations for it

I dont know when your friend is planning this but starting Nov 1 2014 I think they will have a few 8 day sailings on the Splendor from San Juan to NY
