Thomson charters ex MAN

Travelling this Friday on a 787 to BGI. How strict are they with the 5kgs limit on cabin baggage. My cabin case already weighs 2kgs empty :(

When we have travelled with Thompson and Thomas Cook they have weighed the hand luggage and have been quite strict with the weight. We were 1kg over once and had to take a pair of trainers out and put them in the checked in luggage.

 

I think it is a safety issue with the hand luggage being in the overhead lockers.

 

I have since bought a lightweight carry on case from Matalan:)

In our experience very strict. Make good use of your coat pockets for things like chargers, jewellery, mobile phone.

Dump the cabin case and buy a rucksack.

Well, I'm thinking of taking a shoulder bag instead. (my coat pockets are not so big to hide kgs of excess!)

Nobody checked my handbaggage at all. Could have had my case after all. But it's easy to be wise iafter the event.

Hot, hot, HOT!

 

In tortola today and ther's just been a rainshower (our first) but it is still very hot. Had to have a complete change of clothes when I went back to ship at lunchtime and am now sitting in bar by Road town marina (wet through again) drinking a painkiller and catching up with internet.

 

This is our first afternoon when it'snot been sunny - though plenty sunny here this morning.

Thanks so much for info. I don't mind short sharp showers but honestly every site I have been on is predicting, rain, wind and even thunder and lightening. I am delighted that you have had lovely weather. Enjoy the rest of your Cruise

After I posted on Tortola, I learnt they have had raivery day for a week but as I said just a short shower in the early p.m. when I was there.

 

Grand Turk today and it is absolutely SCORCHIO!!!

Thank you Canny Cruiser after just sinking a bottle of champagne before we set sail I really don't mind what the weather is iike we shall just enjoy two weeks of pure luxury on board mind you when I wake up at 4.00am to go to the airport I may change my mind!!!!!!!!!
