snorkeling at hilton rose hall?

Have any of you been snorkeling at hilton rose hall? How was it? Good variety of fish and coral? Can you go just from the beach or best to go out via a boat excursion?

There is a small roped off area at the beach, supposedly for snorkeling/swimming. But I doubt anything worth seeing there. There is likely a excursion you can buy extra from the small pier there. But bottom line as an excursion, HRH is best known for its pool, lazy river, lunch and drink service. The water slide is actually very cool too. Mostly a relaxing and resort atmosphere.

 

If looking to snorkel, plan another trip that will take you out to a reef.
